No you are wrong. Afghanistan and Iraq are going exactly as planned. The war is supposed to be continuous the the profits to the wars industry are as well at the expense of the American tax payer and American soldiers.
There are also countries ocupied by USA and NATO member countries without military on the ground, but with puppet regimes doing everything to help suck out money and wealth from those countries.
