***ALERT***Outing a programmer that steals your sites when he gets FTP

I created a couple other threads that were vague and mostly trying to collect info on a guy who completely ripped my databases and files from server back in 2010.

He reserved 6 domain names that exactly replicate my site (which are mainstream) and is processing through 2checkout (soon to be closed).

I just wanted to put this info. in a thread that was straight and to the point.

His paypal, paxum, 2checkout, godaddy etc. will all be frozen. He last logged in yesterday so somebody from this forum alerted him. I checked his profile prior and he had not logged in since January of this year.

I'm glad he knows he will be fucked.

I recommend anyone that has given him FTP access to perform programming tasks check your sites. Mainly, google your sites and make sure he didn't do the same to you as he did me.

When hiring a programer, ask for references that you can verify yourself. Whenever possible, worth with a programmer in your own country and insist on a written signed agreement. When providing access, make sure the FTP info is to a development server with test data only, and not a production server with production data. Under no circumstances should you allow anyone root or administrative access to your server, or allow access to other directories. When the job is finished make sure there are no other programs or scripts installed that should not be there. Demand the source code and review everything carefully where possible before making anything live, and before paying the balance.

my programmer, as much as I might hate him, has full access now. He is also punker barbies dad... His name is chazz and has taken care of my server/bizz for 2 years

What happened before was theft... just can't believe nobody is saying they recognize name

I know why you are upset, you are upset because until now you didn't have any competition in that niche and that's why you are throwing stones.

But this is not how you handle competition if you want no competition then you try to acquire competition. I've taken a look in the niche and I saw companies that offer desktop software for almost the same services. Are you going to go after them as well ?

If you want my domains you can say so, maybe we can reach a deal if you want to acquire your competition.

Just take a look at tube sites, what if only one tube would have a monopoly on all traffic?
If another tube site came he would try anything in his power to acquire.
Without competition we wouldn't even have facebook.

As a last warning, I'm telling you this: stop with the hate words because I don't like to get mad.

So what you are saying is no one should trust you with any work because you will likely buy a similar name and steal their idea.

Its one thing to make a tube site but another to go for domains that represent a clients and steal a unique idea they trusted you to work on after you see them isn't it? If you are selling yourself as a developer, I would assume your clients do not expect you to be building sites like theirs for yourself. You pretty much admitted it was unique with potential to make money.

Beaner that sucks. Maybe you should add a type of privacy/NDA agreement with your contracts in the future to prevent fucked up shit like this from happening again.

Not cool, but it happens. Even had sponsors copy sites of mine that I was pushing their shit on. I'm sure that happens A LOT, but most times you can't do shit about it but put your creative hat back on and keep it moving. Take this as a lesson learned.

He didn't create anything... totally stole my entire server. Now it's going to cost me thousands in attorney fees to patch all the holes in what he has done
