Down in San Diego, years ago, under a series of over passes they used to store new cars. Thousands of them. I always thought it was odd that they just stored brand new cars like that out in the open.

Those might have been just dropped from ships/trains/trucks and are waiting for transport. You can find some massive parking lots full of cars down by the harbor
