What are people doing in mainstream these days?

I haven't messed with any sort of web business in a while now but looking to maybe start back. I'm curious what people are doing these days when it comes to main stream..

Are people still farming PPC stuff with spam sites and so on or is it more affiliate driven now with any decent payouts? Selling leads still big?

Also I'm not interested in porn/adult shit or herbal crap trying to claim it's mainstream.. I'm talking legit mainstream.

I'm just curious what areas are worth looking into these days.

I never mentioned anything about easy.. Just curious what the trends are these days. Used to be mainstream was a lot of PPC stuff, but wondering if that's changed at all.

I still find keywords with low competition, high searches. Register a domain as close to that keyword as possible, take the time to build a good site with unique content, watch google traffic roll in. mix of adsense, cj and shareasale. My goal is to average $2 bucks a day per site. repeat 500 times.

I personally prefer to spread it out like this, that way when a site takes a shit and it does happen, its not that big of a deal.

        please dont tell anyone.

I actually dabble in a few different areas. Domaining, herbal products, gaming and online real estate. Most of these are tough areas to break in to but can be worth it if you have some time and money to put into it. This is in addition to my adult affiliate marketing and at one point gambling which has been tougher (due to the stupid US gambling rules). I also offer graphic design so I stay busy.

I'm in a few niches. Google has really made things tough in mainstream these days. Link building is dying. I'm finding that upping the quality has been key. My sites may not make $$$$ that blackhatters earn, but they're gonna stick round for years.
