That's an odd question. FTP is a terrible protocol for backup unless the client is really smart. Orion Data Safe uses FTP, though, if the choice of network protocol is that important to you:

Most likely you'll get a better answer by asking about the best way to back up whatever it is you want to back up, rather than randomly selecting an outdated wire protocol.
