Canon has produce bigger pixels (Photo Diodes) so they do not need to make the image size bigger to obtain high quality images with more detail.
Looks like the Canon is the over all winner from the rumors spec sheets.

Can't wait for my d800

I have a DX now, so basically i staring from the beginning (need to get new FF 24-70 and 70-200) so i can chose Nikon or Canon.

I saw samples from both cams and must admit , Nikon win big time, so i will stay with Nikon.

The only thing that bothering me, is those huge 36 mgp files...grrrrr
but i believe it will worth my extra time and money for new computer , because of the extra detales and iq.

I've used canon since using DSLR, but looking at these specs, it seems the nikon has more choice on the camera apart from the auto control of the camera on the canon
