Link Lists that using NoFollow, are you insane ?

i am just trying to understand what exactly directory owners thinking, i see most of the Link lists sites started using NoFollow on their submitted links, as i read what google says about NoFollow it was made to protect blogs from comment spam, so basically using NoFollow on link means that site don't trust the links they posting on their directory, and not some links, they don't trust ALL their content ?

and besides those lovely theories, Directories used to rank great in google as they used to get lots of links from freesites submits, but this days they all don't trust their submitters, don't let SE bots follow the links and get their link power to 0 ? so why they want get recip links ? all links leading to freesites are NoFollow, so no indexed no SE power not even a bit, so what the hell are you thinking ?

They are looking for incoming link juice, and not sending any out.

Typically you need the link juice coming in, and you do not want to simply cross cancel out the link via straight link back. That is why people do A-B-C linking strategies.

So my guess would be, the link list owner wants 200/0 links coming in, and is not sending out any link love back. Or, perhaps they only provide link juice back on PAID links. There are many ways to approach doing any type of site depending on what your business model, or how you plan to monetize the site.

I am sure there is some sort of linking strategy at play. It just does not make sense on the surface, but a lot of the things done for SEO are that way. You simply have to reverse engineer it to find out the true objectives or what is behind it.

Maybe they are being careful to only have 'clean' links incoming, not volume.

so how exactly this cool strategy works ? most of link list out of google completely some still around that had luck to get links from freesites that had normal follow links the link list niche is almost wiped out completely, who's strategy was it exactly ?

name the LL, i stared with freesites back in the day.. seems the owners are doing anything to profit from those dinosaur websites. no luck vs tubes huh :-)

name the LL ? most of them are tubes already, 2 - 5 big ones left and loosing ranks daily as no more new link juicy coming in, in the Follow days any LL used to get 50 - 500, fresh new incoming links this days the juice doesn't taste so good
