I know (no fucking way would I send a screenshot with an image of CP) but I'm hesitant to even click on the Google link leading to the file locker. Too worried it will appear that I'm downloading a bunch of CP.

I believe that there are some legitimate and legal uses for File Lockers, so you should be careful that you do not unknowingly alienate legitimate users of FL sites, and risk having them push back, and even possibly align with the illegal users of the FL sites.

Just as we legal adult site operators want the illegal operators out of our business, the legitimate users of FL's should be made into our allies, and could be strong supporters if we open their eyes about how some FL's are participating in/facilitating illegal activities, and hurting their company's reputation in the process (most legit companies do not want to be associated with CP and such).

We need to find File Lockers which are legit (if that business model is even sustainable with legit users), and direct the legit users to them. As they flee the shady FL companies, it will be even easier to target the bad guys, and it will remove whatever claim of legitimacy that they are trying to hide behind.

If there will be no "cyberlocker" anymore where uploaders are paid for new commissions they would simply find any dmca ignoring off-shore hoster to host own websites on and upload to other "cyberlockers" (without affiliate systems) and moneytize your ripped content in a different way.

So what ever they will keep ripping your content and publishing and make money with it, actually people allready doing so and making even far more money than from any hosters affiliate system.

The problem starts far more earlier where people trigger a search at Google for something they don´t wont to pay for. "keyword + download + free" So, better try getting a job as engineer in Mountain View and develop some better algorithm that will sort out things like this from their indexes quicker.

Not "file hosts" - host have DMCA protection, so don't encourage people to thonk of them as hosts. Instead, use terms like "pirate" or "illegal" to specify exactly who you are going after - not dropbox, but "illegal pirate sites."

Today I fielded a call from Adrian Christie of Paypal Australia who contacted me after hearing from a journalist in Australia.

He assured me that Paypal would investigate every instance on the http://coldcopy.com.au website and would shut down sites in violation

However he did not seem to get the fact that these sites are so uncontrollable in what can be uploaded and shared that even if there is no violation today, there could be tomorrow.

File Sharing sites need to be added to the list of sites that Paypal prohibit in their AUP.

He indicated he might provide a formal response and if he does I will post it to the website.
