Probably to M$ it is. It can be their version of "Facetime" with an established userbase already. I can already see them integrating more Skype features into their next Windows phone.

Personally, I like Skype.

I find it to be very useful and don't have many problems with it. The only country were I've had a real problem is China. Most problems have been caused by local lack of bandwidth in which case I just turn off the camera.

I hope Microsoft continues to improve the service.

What's with all the negativity for Skype? It's reliable, light on resources and encrypted. In 8 years or so it's crashed on me maybe twice. Can't say that for any other IM platform i've tried.
