    Anybody here shooting in Mexico ???

    What have your experiences been like ?

              I cant believe no one is shooting there...

              Is it because of the potential for arrest or the state of the gang/drug trafficing wars ? I know its more dangerous now than ever before but I didnt think that would stop intrepid producers.

              I thought for sure someone would be HQ'd in Mexico....

                  from what I have been told it's illegal to shoot there. shane's world had some issue when they shot in mexico years ago

                      Porn in Mexico is a gray area. The issue I believe comes when word gets out that someone is paying the girls good money and then the cops show up and want a cut.

                      Someone was shooting not long ago and gave up because every day it was more and more cops with their hands out.

                          Which is really funny considering the state of affairs down there. You would think damn near anything is legal. May be the drug cartels will take over the government and clean things up a little bit.

                              I looked into shooting in Mexico about ten years ago, but gave up because of La Mordida. I wanted a good idea of what my expenses would be, but how much money in bribes I'd need to spend, and who exactly I'd need to pay off was too much of an unknown.

                              Now the drug war is an even better reason to not shoot in Mexico.

                                  The Drug war is mostly in the border regions and if you stay away from there you are safe. Then being in any city in mexico is like being in any big city in the states. You dont go into over town in miami and you dont go into the colonies in Mexico.

                                  As for paying people off thats the real trick.

                                  I dont recall who it was but someone had a studio ran some ads in the paper I believe and started shooting. One day a cop shows up. the next day or so he comes again and then again and with more cops.. Just not worth it.
