Forum Autoposter -- Comments and Beta Testers

For a couple of years now, we've been selling Forum Autoposter, which has had some nice results automatically populating forums with users and content. These "seeded" forums then draw in "real" users, and blammo -- a forum is born.

Marking a transition in the direction of the product, we're in the final stages of developing the new Forum Autoposter. I'm soliciting comments from the community at large, fielding questions, and generally trying to get an idea of how a "mass market" version of something we've sold only to a select few would play out.

To begin, I need someone who knows their shit with mainstream feeds to please suggest a content-rich mainstream RSS feed.

That's a VERY "beta" version of what we'd crank out in a production package. The version that lives at that URL does *NOT* save anything to a database .. it generates "on the fly," but is highly configurable.

Notice how trolls actually come in to the threads, and get smacked back down by admins. I set the "chance" for this to happen darn near 100%, so that everyone can experience it and comment.

A: No forum actually exists. What you see is an automatically generated page using PHP. It has pulled the feed I input based on Jace's suggestion, and made the forum posts ... all of them. It's also randomly inserted trolls, admins, etc.


Q: Do I need phpBB or any specific software to use it?

A: We haven't decided yet, to be honest. The old version of FAP used VBulletin and phpBB, but this one may be independent of both, or be compatible with both. It depends on the reception.


Q: I bought Forum Autoposter for $20,000. Will I get this software for free?

A: In a word? Yes. However, your $20,000 was mainly to use the technology years before anyone else had an opportunity to. I set up 2-3 new ones a day

surfers can't tell the difference, I use all sponsor rss feeds and don't change any text

i guarantee that you have posted on a forum that was started with fake posters and bots

forum autoposter is AWESOME for getting forums started, or when you have a low point with not a lot of people posting, just fire up the autoposter and initiate some conversations

hell, I used to do that on my blog user help forum, except I did it by hand, why not get something that would automate it?

actually, for blogs that are 70-80% search engine traffic, they are totally impressive when you factor in the amount of these blogs he has

same with me...I may only have 1500 or so uniques a day on some of my blogs, but I also have 100+ blogs pretty easily

there are hundreds of ways to do even the simplest things, why knock something you don't understand or haven't personally tried?

If you use RSS feeds and dont change any text i doubt these splogs would get any traffic. Duplicate content penalty, plus you have to actgually promote a blog (link backs and so on) to get traffic.

Wow, they certainly don't play it up, then. I read the feature list twice, fairly quickly each time, and didn't see a mention of RSS feeds, automated user interaction, etc.

Pretty cool beans if they do, though.

Eh, darksoul seems to know his shit, so maybe he found something we didn't. Either way, I'd be interested to see. It'd suck if he made that comment so early in the thread and they don't really have it .. may have turned some people off.
