There are multiple schools of thought about defense and deterrent one of which is of course "the best defense is a good offense". About deterrent "the enemy must believe that you will use all of the weapons at your disposal" or that weapon then is not a deterrent.

I didn't watch the video because a prefer to read (it's much faster and more informative). What exactly is new in those nukes? Smaller nukes with cleaner yields is pretty much the bottom line. Not city destroyers but viable for use tactical nukes.

We have had tactical nukes since the development of the M65 .280 MM atomic cannon, which was a towed artillery piece built by the United States and capable of firing a nuclear device. It was developed in the early 1950s, at the beginning of the Cold War, and fielded, by 1953, in Europe and South Korea.

We have an arsenal of "mini nukes". Including the Neutron Bomb.

Everything would indicate the issue won't be the Chinese but American's as they fall from grace as world number 1's, current administration in the USA is just expediting the process. I can't see many Americans accepting the USA as the third richest country, with the second most powerful military and getting second hand technology China wishes to give them. Its not something that might happen.. its in progress now, just dread the minute joe average Amercian wakes up to it.
