    Events Shemitah - do we care?

    A co-worker buddy lately has been going on about the upcoming 7-year Jewish cycle of Shemitah...predicting something major and dire is going to happen on or around Sept. 13th. Stock market collapse...major war...or some such thing. Yadda yadda.

    Normally I wouldn't give such talk the time of day. But this guy's fairly intelligent and keeps up with a lot of economic, social and political world happenings. At times he's a bit of a tinfoil hatter - but he's not a Chicken Little or "the end is nigh" kinda guy - and he seems especially adament lately about this Shemitah cycle.

    Anyone heard anything similiar recently? Any warnings? Signs?

    Or should we break out the tinfoil hats and just drink ourselves into oblivion like 1999?

      In the book of Genesis, Pharaoh had a dream of 7 fat cows, followed by 7 skinny cows. The Jewish slave, Joseph correctly interprets the dream to mean 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine. The Bible records the first ever economic cycle. Shemitah years are God's seven year cycles which are linked to economic activity, for God commands that in the seventh year all debts are to be forgiven.

This picture was released to the mostly secular U.S. news services and sent all across the nation on Sept. 25, the first day of the Shemitah Year. The farmer named this cow Ben (after a football player) which is for Benjamin, a tribe of Israel. In the middle of the Shemitah year another Benjamin will make an important speech before Congress.

              I don't know if a cow with a No.7 on its head is enough to send me stockpiling the bunker and cashing in my stocks, though.

              But interestin' stuff - I'll have to mention this to him Monday mornin'. Maybe I can parlay it into him buyin' the morning coffee.

                                      So 9-11-2001 was a Shemitah event...interadesting. 2015-2001 = 14 (7 +2001 = 2008)

                                      Berwick is a pretty interesting guy. Have followed his news for awhile beginning with the bitcoin ATMs. He used to or does have a site advising people what countries, like Cambodia etc that offer relatively cheap citizenship for foreigners.

                                      2001 and 2008 both stellar years for shit storms. Hmmmmmm.
