Pfft. ICQ is useless. ICQ used to be cool until it was sold to some other company who then turned it into an overweight app full of advertising and who knows what else. SKYPE is by far the best and most useful way for real-time contact with clients.Comment

I still turn it on. Used to be ICQ (Adult) - MSN (mainstream) - Skype (Fashionistas) but Skype ate MSN and imported all my contacts which is annoying since most Adult is on Skype and are jumbled up with non-adult, so now it's just ICQ and Skype. And Facebook chat... sigh.

I would receive at least 10-15 messages from strangers that either wanted to just "chat" or wanted me to teach them English. Not sure how any of them even got my icq number but I couldn't figure out how to block anyone. It was only about twice a week I would have people contact be that way for work anyways so I just told them I was moving to only Skype an emailComment

I only use ICQ, but turn it on to serve my needs alone, not the needs of others. It has been years since I have left it on continuously. So, though I use it, it's a rare occasion. I have never installed Skype and possibly never will, nor any other fashion-of-the-day chat program.
