Just once, for ~$800

bhutocracy 01-14-2003 07:18 AM

2 times in the past 2 months. both clients, about $1600.

Jakke PNG 01-14-2003 07:47 AM

Plenty, and plenty of times.. luckily for just small sums like 200$, 400$, 700$...
but quite quickly they add up. I think I should have made around $3k more last year from my designs than I actually made. :)
What great business this is.. such honesty.

I see a lot of you webmaster's complaining about 3rd party processors and aggregators. My question is why do you continue to stay with them then? Get a merchant account for your company, and have a direct relation with the processing bank. It's just my :2 cents: and it only makes sense because your rates are a hell of a lot lower.

not sure how it is in the states, but around here they won't give you a merchant account for any online business. let alone porn.

Flyingiguana... You can still get a merchant account in the states if you run a sex shop online, dvd movies, toys or actually storefront(shop) that sort of item, but the place of business has to reside in the states. As for the adult merchant accounts, you sure can with different offshore banks. I set them up all day long. That is why I can't beleive there arn't more webmasters getting there own accounts more often. No, they would rather bitch about paying 12%-15% and not getting paid on a regular bases then spend some money and get a real account.

Dmr

And

Primeinternet. Don't ever deal with these people. Their scripts don't work, they have horrible tech support, they don't return your calls or answer your emails and they continued to charge me after I canceled for a product that was working half the time. They are also one of Ibill's preferred partners, that should give you a good indication of how well they operate!

originalheather 01-14-2003 06:52 PM

Years ago by the Adult Candy people who were running a fly-by-night processing business for my old phone sex service. Screwed me out of a couple grand. I think everyone on the net was screwed by them if they were dumb enough to do business with them. I admit to being dumb.

WTSbank, aka ACHdebit, they deliberately shut off my checking processing with about 5 days notice over a fuckup with security on their scripts which was causing easy hacking and running my bandwidth through the ceiling, plus they weren't expiring cancels, which happened too many times to count. They didn't want to reimburse my costs for fixing the mess, so they shut me down over about 900 bucks after 3 years of proccessing, backing them up when they lost their merchant account and promoting them vigorously for zip in commissions that whole time. They see it differently. but I lost about 1500 a month in recurrings that were so old the sufers had forgotten they belonged. Only got about 5 back. This was about 6 months ago, at a time I sure couldn't afford to lose the income. Incredibly, they were all sweet to me in Vegas and still are suffering under the delusion that they did nothing wrong, though Chuck admitted that they had permissions set wrong, etc. They've threatened to sue me if I spoke out. I'd suggest they do so. Can't be convicted for telling the truth.

Ibill, who can't seem to get their stats right. They disagree, I say they still owe me.

Mojo from Standard Internet, who got some cracked idea that I was conspiring with Serge to damage him, so he stopped paying my recurrings on pornstories.com for about 3 months. Cost me about 4K. Also never paid out when DMR went down, didn't think he owed it. When I lost my WTS cc processing, I paid my partners, but Robert doesn't think that he owed his partners anything. He thought I was stupid to pay partners when I didn't get paid, but I believe that if you have a webmaster sending you signups, you owe him. If you don't get paid by your processor, that's your problem, your webmasters MUST be paid. Right about the time he let everyone hang for the DMR stuff, he bought a Ferrari. Guess it would have been two if DMR hadn't made him so poor he couldn't stand by his webmasters.

Every dialer I ever used..they always found some lame excuse not to pay. I haven't used one lately, I hear there are some good ones now.

Shaved? Hah, hard to prove, but it's been blatantly obvious with a shocking percentage of sponsors. I'm not naming names with this one, cause I have no proof.

Taken in perspective, it's been a very small percentage of my income over the years, but it's never fun being fucked over. It's just a risk we run being in a business where a certain percentage of people were probably criminals in their previous dealings, most of us should consider ourselves lucky that it didn't happen more.

does the word "TransCharge" mean anything to anyone here? screwed us out of thousands, i hope noone else here has also had the misfortune to have dealt w/ those guys..

Thumbelina 01-17-2003 01:33 PM

Twice last year, one a ripoff artist selling a bogus site.........from Isreal.........made no bones about it ........he cruised forums for people wanting to by sites etc.................He told us that he had no problem ripping people off...............1k

The other one is a Fellow Canadian that promised to sell his site half up front , half when site was transfered...............when I wired him the money ......he backed out and demanded more money...........We cancelled the deal and he would not return the money back..............

The worst thing is that he still deals on this forum and said that we could try anything to get it back...............

:ak47: He is from Winnipeg..........and is a total jackass...........

Heather,
DMR was a 3rd party processor that went out of business 3 years ago. There were no recurrings. All billing ceased.

Please explain exactly how you paidreccurings on billings that were not processed. You can't because you are a liar.

BTW: I still have your email about your wish that my children would die in a car accident in the Ferrari. You're a class act.

andrew1009 01-17-2003 01:41 PM

INTERGAL still owes me about $400 from Oct. I'm also still waiting on a SexyAVS check for $60... from a couple months ago.

railz 01-17-2003 02:04 PM

So far I'm up to about $4000 in designs and layouts. Since I changed to 100% up-front for new clients, not one single problem.
