I have no money in the visa part.

I get this error message the last 6 times I tried to send an epass payment the last 2 hours;
"There was an error processing your request. Please try again later"

It is probably because the receiver has it set to land in the Virtual Visa and that cannot go through.

Michael - when will you have any new information for us? Today or after weekend?

tony286 09-03-2010 07:30 AM

First I hope everyone gets their funds out. I remember living the ibill nightmare and I wouldnt wish it on anyone. A few things you want write visa write but they dont give a shit. We are a incredibly small percentage of all transactions they do. If we were all gone tomorrow they really wouldnt care except the chargeback bullshit would drop dramatically.
Secondly I dont understand why people who are not selling actual porn hard goods or memberships are not using paypal for b2b transactions. If you are some graphics guy or some affiliate looking to get paid that's not porn. Now I cant sell porn memberships on paypal but doing regular business I dont understand why paypal isnt used. Dont leave mountains of money in it like anything else like that. I leave $5 in my account so if it goes away its oh well.

If the receiver have not set the default to wallet then that can be the problem.

Anyway, IMPORTANT QUESTION

What is the expected queue time to have a bank wire sent?

normally 2-3 business days but it might take a bit longer now if we get many requests

maxpower 09-03-2010 07:36 AM

They are gone, might as well just accept the fact you will Never get your Money and epass will be shutdown in the next few months after a lot of "Im sorry's" and "we are working on that and expect things to be worked out any day now"

I just don't know why the even bother any longer, might as well come out and say your all fucked and we will be shutting down in the next few moths Good Luck

Opposition Leader Hon. Mark Brantley says the government’s reliance on the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank (SKNANB), and others, to finance their borrowing is exposing the banks to great risk.

“The IMF Report also highlighted that the surging debt burdens made it more difficult for our government to access foreign loans and as a result, government has turned to the domestic banks and other financial institutions, or the issuance of government debt instruments to finance their borrowing. As a result the IMF tells us that ‘gross public sector exposure is high and concentrated in local banks’. Of these local banks, the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank is the bank of choice for both the federal government and the NIA for much of its domestic debt,” he said.

Brantley indicated that this could spell disaster for the SKNANB and other financial institutions should the government not be able to meet its financial obligations to the lending institutions and other creditors.

“This creates a further dimension to the debt crisis in that any risk of default by the government directly impacts the largest financial institution in the country. When we consider that the National Bank is also the primary depository for the Social Security Funds, the potential for difficulty is exacerbated. The domino effect of any such crisis throughout the financial sector in St. Kitts-Nevis is perhaps too frightening to contemplate,” he asserted.

Anybody know how this bank is doing?
If it folded then we can kiss both our money and epassporte good-bye.

Gambit 09-03-2010 07:37 AM

Is the withdraw to a credit/debit card option only for the US? Or can i use it from the UK? If so will try to get my wallet money out now.

That would be the first thought, but then why would they even bother to let the wallet money out ?
So, for now, I think they are trying to fix it. They might not succeed but thats another matter.

"At this time we do not know why this drastic action was taken by Visa. To us, it is unconscionable that such action would be taken without the opportunity for ePassporte to fully understand Visa?s reasons and to be able to take all steps necessary to keep our program running the way it has so successfully done for over 7 years. But that is what Visa has done."

At this time we do not know why.... COME ON!!!! You are a multi million dollar company and you don't know what's going on. Don't take us for Idiots for fuck sakes.

Ya these guys never do work these things out, Visa does not do this lightly and will not revers this situation. I pulled out all the funds I can, and am sure everyone else is trying to do the same.

Its not that big of a deal, but a sigh of the times and sure it will hurt the people that can least afford to be hurt now. I just wonder who will be next that Visa shuts down?

Was gonna post about it but thought maybe I was wrong. Now that someone else noticed it too, what is that about?

After so many hours of playing pretend damage control by answering questions with automatic copy/paste replies; now all of a sudden it would appear that he's trying to distance himself. Not that it would help since everyone here knows he works for epassporte, but still.

Something is seriously a muck here, and any of you who have any hopes whatsoever of this being resolved in our favor are seriously delusional IMHO. Luckily our business itself doesn't rely on epass whatsoever, but 90% of our affiliates do and those are who we feel bad for.

For many, and what many do not understand, epassporte IS their bank. It is super easy to open up an epassporte account, get a visa electron card and do business. Doesn't cost anything, no monthly/yearly fees and is far easier to open than a regular bank account. Not to mention, it's the preferred method for a reason. Countless affiliates live outside of the US and for those people, wire isn't an option most of the time (how many programs out there only do US wires? a LOT). And checks are a huge pain in the ass.. First, you have to wait weeks to actually get the check, then deposit it and wait another 30-60 days for it to clear before funds are available.

Now, I realize that a lot of the people who are calling people idiots for trusting their money with epass live in the US; and to you I say.. try looking from the outside in every once in a while. There's an entire world out there beyond the borders of the US.. try experiencing what a lot of people have to deal with before calling someone else an idiot.

If you get 50 messages in the first 10 minutes of going online and doing 6-9 conversations at a time and after an hour had 70 waiting messages where if someone messaged you they would have to wait 45 minutes for a reply because you had to work through messages in the order they came then you would try to limit IMs as I did to make sure everyone can get an answer.

To Whom it May Concern,

I'm writing to your organization today because I'm not happy with Visa decision to suspend Epassporte visa account. I'm using Epassporte visa electron card & now I cant withdrawal any funds at all since 2 days now. I'm stuck now in Indonesia & have no way to get any money from ATM. Do you're organization realize that 100,000's of people rely on epassporte for their every day needs? I heard some people are even living on bread until this is resolved.

Again, you're not just dealing with few people, this is affecting 100,000's of people out there. Please relay this message to your Executives & give us a chance to get our money at least & not in hands of thieves.

Regards,

lol, funny.

That's awfully presumptuous of you isn't it?

Less that 1 day, 16 pages of freak outs... you people just need to calm the fuck down and let them sort it out. Visa have locked your funds that are applied to the pay as you go credit cards. No one has stolen your money and I'm sure it will all work out.

In the meantime, do what I did and put your own credit card on file with them and make your withdrawals that way. In my case it's simply a MBNA Mastercard that they credit when I request it. Yes there is a service charge but it's cheaper than $50 bank wires.

Chill.

No how many times do we have to hear that BS, everyone should pull out every dime they can NOw as fast as they can before its too late.

THe accounts the will not release now will Never be released get what you can and run as fast as you can. They could use MasterCard but will not do that and just keep the funds for bankruptcy

I would suggest to collate a FAQ with some answers, i see people here repeating the same questions

Overloading epassporte staff will not help.

And being a bit offtopic, any clue about how an european citizen can open a bank account in a US bank without taking a plane?

most countries, some countries does not allow these kind of transactions off the top of my head I can not remember them so UK and EU is most likely fine.

Lucky_Gilmore 09-03-2010 07:53 AM

Michael O.,
1) How epass plans to solve this problem? In steps. Plans for the leaders of the company?
2) Will there be a transition from a Visa to Mastercard or something else?

Does that work for any countries Credit Card? Do you know?

Roald 09-03-2010 07:56 AM

The thing is IF epassporte solves this situation and everybody gets full control again 99% of the people will probably withdraw anything they got in their account at the speed of light.

= kill epass.
