Huge meteor shower at 5:23 AM Eastern Time

From Dusk till dawn but 5:23 to 5:47 Eastern Time is the peak time to view. They say it will be awesome! I'm getting my tripod out now.

PS: Let's see who can get the best pics.............or video

It's hazy here, and the moon is super bright. Bright enough that I was casting a shadow when I went outside a little bit ago.

I saw one meteor, got cold, and decided to call it a night. Of course, the good stuff isn't for another 5 hours.

Sure, and you ought to have a great view there, too! A meteor shower is just God throwing rocks at those California heathens...

was just outside for 5 minutes and saw about 10 good meteors.. 2-3 were really bright and went across 1/3 of the sky.. most are real quick.. going out in about 2 hours when the moon is almost gone from the sky and the shower is at it strongest..

if you look east and spot Jupiter (bright shining planet about 45 degrees above horizon) that is usually the best direction to see them come from. If the moon is still out try to get on the east side of a building to block the setting moon in the west. Just went back out and saw about 5 more in less than 2 minutes and I am in Oklahoma.

I was just outside and I saw a bunch (maybe 10 or so, most were small though). Very cool After about 5 minutes though, my feet were ice cubes, my neck was sore, and a fox came into my yard and scared me back inside, lol. Whoa baby, have any of you ever heard the noise that a fox makes? It's a demonic barking type noise. It's the most frightening thing on earth!! But I digress, lol

Went out to the lake with a group of friends, built a fire, ate s'mores, and saw a whole bunch of meteors. Very clear night so even with the moon it was easy to see lots of 'em.

Sucks that this is going to be the best shower until 2099.. tried to wake my kid up to see it but he was dead to the world. Saw a good amount of meteors though. Always a good stress break

I saw about 8 in 30 minutes. The strange thing was they were flying from all different directions. Some going south, some going north and some went west. The best was a pair traveling together in parallel. Wonder how big those are?
