It's all so stupid. A vote of no-confidence because the conservatives have no plan to deal with the economy?
And the liberals or democrats do???

I think they should be forced to have a clear and concise plan in place before they're allowed to just throw around no-confidence votes. Now we'll just end up with chaos and bickering as no one will be able to agree on anything..... hmm... kinda like any other day in the government.

think this might actually be something to do wtih trying to put the opposition in bankruptcy. They're trying to take away government funding for opposition parties, while spying on them.

The plan is to eliminate democracy, not fix the economy.

Liberal turn coats. The people have already spoken, and recently too.

I read an article the other day, don't have a link handy, by a political sciences prof in Calgary that really went in to how extraordinary it would be if another leader was simply appointed as opposed to calling for another election after a no confidence vote.

Hopefully that's what happens. The no confidence vote goes through, another federal election is called, and the voters punish the Liberal party in to obscurity. One can only hope.

It's all part of the plan. Divide and rule.

I think big changes are coming to most countries and in 2009 we will see more false-flag terror attacks and mayhem so that the people scream for a solution which they will provide in the shape of a unified world government run by scary men in dark suits.

Oh here's that article
Quote:
As talk of a potential coalition government swirls through the halls of parliament, some experts in Canadian political history say the reality is it will likely never come to fruition.

There's "not a chance" that the Liberals and NDP will be able to convince Governor General Michaëlle Jean they'll be able to form a working coalition, says Barry Cooper, a political science professor at the University of Calgary

The Liberals most likely would of won if not for the lame duck Dion. Another federal election? Yeah, great idea to blow another 30 million dollars for nothing in a time of economic hardship.

You play with fire, you get burned. Personally I am not in favor of a coalition government but regardless if it was simply a ploy to get the opposition to publically announce it or not, it makes him look he is trying to turn Canada into some kind of dictatorship by neutering his opponents.

This is - as far as I can tell - democracy in action. The majority of Canadian people did not vote for the Tories, and the Canadian constitution has established rules to deal with a minority government that no longer has the confidence of the House. If the Tories lose the confidence motion, and the Governor General is satisfied that the opposition can form a sustainable coalition, then the Liberals, NDP, and BQ will form the official government (who together do enjoy the support of the majority of Canadians). If the opposition cannot form a sustainable government, then it will be election time again.

Harper had his best chance to get a majority government in October, and he fucked it with his unpopular platform of sending 14-yo kids to jail and cutting culture funding. Now he has fucked himself by achieving the one thing that the opposition parties could not do for themselves -- uniting them. Harper is the ONLY thing that glues the Tories together, and without him there will be some serious fragmentation. If / when the opposition parties form the government, Harper will go -- leaving the Tories in turmoil, and unleashing endless rounds of blaming, blood letting, and implosion.

Democracy is a beautiful thing

Do you actually believe that? There were two possible outcomes for the last election - Conservative majority or Conservative minority.

Doesn't matter who was at the helm of the Liberal train wreck.

Liberals lost because of Dion and his campaign platform of the Carbon Gas Tax.
Layton lost because of his pedostash and the NDLOLParty. The NDP will never be voted in to lead the country or Ontario for a very, very long time. You can thank Bob Rae for that and his social contract.

Voter turnout for the last election was at an all-time low because Canadians are sick and fucking tired or voting every two fucking years for a new Prime Minister; not to mention this election was the day after Thanksgiving.

I think the practice of dissolving the gov't just to have another election that shows the current leader/party may win again needs to stop.
The country votes in the party/leader for 4 years, it should be for 4 years.

This whole non-confidence vote that's stirring up is nothing more than sour grapes.
To quote Artie Lang "WWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH"

I can tell you one thing - if this 'non-confidence' vote somehow goes out to a poll for Canadians to see if they want another election or support the coalition gov't, you can bet it'll be yet another 'all time low' voter turn-out.

While I agree there is some truth to a suppossed NWO, it isn't going to happen this year and it certainly won't happen next year. It probably won't even happen in the next 50 to 100 years. THIS current government model is still really young.

There is NO way even a quarter of the countries out there would be on board for this. Not yet anyways.

There is NO way that all of a sudden they are just going to yank the democratic rug out from everyone. Hell, there isn't enough of it to yank just yet. We still have communist and ass backwards countries to convert first (surmising that we survive the current crisis').

If a NWO comes about, the government will do it nice and slow over many more years so when it does happen, citizens will think it was their idea all along and why didn't we do it sooner.

Here's the solution:

Harper should quickly get on the phone to Obama - tell him Canucks will be joining U.S. troops on the front lines along the Packie/Afghan border - then invoke the War Measures Act in Canada.

Then he can have Broadbent/Chretien/Dion/Ignatiuf (along with all the separatists in Quebec) tried for treason...and summarily hung after a military-convened tribunal.

Problem solved.

$30 million?

Try $300 million.

That's what the last election cost the taxpayers.

Big difference.

Right, big difference. In a way I feel the conservatives should be held responsible for some of this cost as they dragged Canadians into another election they clearly didn't want.

Quagmire, I know many people who wanted to vote Liberal but didn't due to Dion and due to the carbon tax.

The idea of the NWO is communist like. They want everyone to depend on the government. (Obama's government will take care of it all) China has been receiving humanitarian awards for years from the UN due to the way they run their country. If you think we aren't that close. What if there was a world economic crash?

The thing is the extreme right can never survive very long in Canada. Harper made a mistake by trying to cut-throat the opposition election money and banning worker's right to strike. Too bad he still doesn't understand what it means to be in a minority gov't. All this could have been avoided.

That's pretty much my view on it. Harper is a donk. Now we're going to have a coalition government with a leftist Ndp, a separatist Bloc and dorky Liberal behind the wheel. Interesting times.
