MojoHost and Choker Traffic fell in love after Alpha Red fell apart!

I have always said that the 'money' follows with good hosting and it's such a joy when we get feedback from clients post-move that affirms this. Whether your business model is premium paysites, traffic generation, SEO, tube sites or galleries I have never had any doubt that better hosting (servers, network) will always make you more money. So often, people get stuck inside of their own box because it's safe, comfortable and risk free. Even though we do compete fiercely and are not always the cheapest, we do always win on quality.

I hear quite often about clients seeing increases of 20-30% in traffic post move. The unsolicited testimonial that Tom included in his Choker Traffic broadcast speaks volumes, I think. I was speechless when someone forwarded it to me. Welcome to the family Tom!

Traffic is thru the roof since we moved all our sites from Alpha Red to Mojohost. If you are running your sites on Cogent bw I highly recomend you change to a tier 1 provider. Since we moved 1 week ago our tube sites traffic went from 700k a day to 1.1 million a day. I attribute this 100% to better bandwidth and faster connections from Mojohost. As a result we have a lot more traffic for sale so make your orders now. Also we are getting great feedback from buyers of the new banner spots. So try this out today if you can.
================================================== =================
-----------------------------------------------------------------

If you're not already a customer of Choker Traffic or have tried them in the past and it didn't work out... you might want to give it another shot, perhaps you will have better results! Tom, I look forward to working with your company long into the future and am excited to see the exponential growth in just 1 week's time.

Sincerely,

Brad Mitchell

Brad,

Stop telling people about your hosting. Even though you and your crew have never taken more than five minutes to answer a ticket, Im afraid with all these great deals and top notch hosting you are giving people, will mean the end of the love shown to us.

Is there an explanation how 400k hits per day just appeared like that? Where did these hits come from that they weren't there before?

Faster loading times is more clicks, I guess. I doubt 400k uniques pop out of nothing

Oh that makes more sense, better load time, more page views. So its more impressions but not more uniques...

Bump for mojo.
It's VERY true. I moved to a quality network (TechieMedia) about 6 months ago from a low priced cogent host and my sales went up about 20% and this is due totally brecause of faster load times, No downtime and never any slow congestion periods. In the long run Quality does pay off.

Maybe that extra traffic is due to better server stats?

I don't think Choker uses server stats to track clicks.

I don't know, I do know the hardware put online is very much comparable to what was in use at the previous host. For what it's worth, most of the server admin as done by his tech as well so I have to assume the stats would be identical setup. It really does seem to be a case of better network delivery.

While I use Nat Net for my personal sites, my employer, Lotza Dollars uses Mojo and I have to say I am quite happy with the response times and help that has been there when needed. The techs are willing to go beyond just fixing any issues and are happy to offer explanations as to what was going on, what caused the issue and what we may be able to do to prevent it from happening again in the future.

The lesson here isn't at all limited to using a better provider mix, it's much deeper. Part of why Alpha Red sucked so horribly was that they were running 10G circuits at 10G and doing so dropping packets and compressing sessions.. on top of not having so many carrier routes, learning curve on building and buying peer routes. It is mostly hosts and how they deploy their network not the networks that they connect to that makes them good or bad relative to performance.

We actually have a 3x capacity for traffic based on daily utilization over 6 carriers and a fully meshed network that's designed properly. In addition to that, what truly sets us apart is the use of the Internap Flow Control Platform to more intelligently manage quality than the competition. Most people floating around here don't realize the bulk of companies do an unintelligent least-cost routing strategy. You often have the perception in shopping around here that you're getting the carriers on their marquis when in fact that's not the truth at all. Many of the companies around here disguise or don't admit to what networks they route most of their outbound over. They pick up 1G or 10G links with small commits so that your inbound traces come in over a Level3, Savvis, Global Crossing but route most of their traffic out through companies like Cogent, WVFiber, Xeex or even just some of the more well known carriers but only on the least expensive 'select' route table that the carrier has decided to make available for that price point.

We upgraded from the FCP 5200 platform (10G total optimization) to the FCP 10G (20G total optimization) platform just a few months ago and already we're staging the upgrade to the 10Gx (40G expandable to 80G total optimization) for a November deployment.

Here is a brief overview description of benefits for the Internap FCP Platform that MojoHost uses:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The FCP provides network performance management and monitoring for companies with redundant Internet connections. Without an FCP, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is often the default routing mechanism, blindly routing data over connections based on the shortest amount of hops ? a choice that frequently results in poor performance. The FCP takes a better approach. It proactively reviews your network(s) for the best performing route or the most cost-effective and routes according to your requirements. This will help improve both performance for your applications and the bottom line.

You can't manage what you can't measure. Most organizations have no way to measure performance across the Internet, no understanding of its performance impact, and no ability to manage it proactively. The FCP has built in tools and reports to show you exactly what is happening on your network today.
Benefits of Network Performance Management

The Internap® Flow Control Platform? (FCP) solution gives you the ability to:

* Dynamically measure the end-to-end performance of your applications, including performance over the public Internet
* Quickly and easily establish policies to automatically implement changes based on those measures
* Report on network performance and cost, perform forensic analysis when problems do occur, and manage your service providers to their SLAs

The result is improved network performance, intelligent load balancing across multiple provider links, and easier troubleshooting.
Vastly Improved Performance ? Freed From Manual Intervention

Now you can guarantee the IP network performance required to support key applications. No longer will the daily, and even hourly, variations in provider performance stall your business-critical applications. Based on its unique capability to measure the characteristics of end-to-end, real-time Internet traffic, the FCP solution improves network performance up to 50% on average by:

* Automatically routing traffic around major network outages
* Managing the network issues such as IP network brownouts and slowdowns that cause the 80% of application issues that impact revenue and productivity
* Proactively identifying and choosing the best performing path for your traffic at all times
* Providing routing based on priority and cost savings for key applications

With the FCP solution, you improve customer satisfaction, increase productivity and allow engineers to focus on value-added activities.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to learn about what truly makes networks different, feel free to ask me more in here or simply chat me up on the phone, ICQ or email and I'm happy to teach more.

Best,

Brad
