Best Bush joke ever told
There were 4 people in a room with Bush.
The FEMA director, the Gov. of Louisiana , the mayor of N.O., and the Dept. of homeland security head. There was a huge storm that destroyed the city of N.O. They asked Bush what to do................. |

It would help us all if you layed your agenda on the line, instead of trying to ignore how the constitution and the USA is designed to run. The states have full control of the nationguard, unless federalized, and they have full control of their: 1. State Police 2. Civil Defense 3. Local Police 4. State Funds I can see how would feel that Mommy (government) needs to intercede in everyone's life as we as humans can not help ourselves. With the amount of disasters this country has been thru... tornadoes, hurricanes, earth quakes, power outages, terrorist attacks, war, etc. We have a state that is know for its corruption and complete mismanagement by ELECTED politicians that it is far easier to point the finger at people you will despise no matter what they do. I will fill out the above questionaire for you: Country: USA - NEW YORK CITY Agenda: I hate anyone who will not be by Mommy... I need a hand holder to make all decisions in my life as I have given my mind, self control, and spirit to a group of faceless entities. Wake the fuck up.... |

I would assume that, like all states faced with disaster, they would address the situation and contain it. When and if they needed additional help they would ask. I am of the mindset of a person that left his house early, I am assuming you still live with your mother... So the mindset of accepting responsibility is a foreign concept for you. By your logic, if Washington D.C. was vaporized we would all not know what to do. The states are supposed to function as images of the roles of the federal government and handle their own affairs. The people of Lousianna elected these people as their care takers, and reinforced this with their tax dollars. Who failed? I know your answer, so no need to respond... I know Mommy should have been there to hold the hands of these 'adults'. It is clear you are hell bent on pointing the finger at Washington D.C. When if you actually threw your ideologoy away and looked at the situation would have to agree the people of LA were let down by their fellow man first and foremost, the local government second, and maybe their Mommy (Federal Government lastly). Your profile claims you are from NYC. If this is the case... during 911 who helped first? Fellow man... Police and Fire Rescue Second: Governor Third: Federal Government WHY SHOULD THIS CASE BE ANY DIFFERENT??? The Mayor on up to the Governor failed. The police RAN!! FUCKING RAN AND COMMITED SUICIDE! Let me repeat, the CIVIL SERVANTS FUCKING RAN! RAN! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! |

It is scary to think that you NEED a centralized government who does not meet your needs or desires to control your entire existence. I fear people like you. Fear them. People who truly feel that if Washington DC vaporized this country would cease to exist. There are those of us, who would rejoice, at the destruction. The most harmful thing to this republic has been the abdication of power from the states to the Federal entitity. States are SUPPOSED to know what their constituents want. We are a consumer, albeit a forced consumer, of their services. Who knows what people want in New York? The Federal Gvt? Or The people of New YorK? |

There were troops on the ground the day it happened. I know, because I had to go thru their roadblocks to try and get my dogs out of my loft. I also had to get an escort the following day, to try and get my financial records and family photo's. Funny how things like that matter when you lose all your stuff. Yep, I was standing as hummers were going by in my neighborhood, with machine guns at the ready. On the SECOND day! While you were sitting at home jacking off that day, I was running for my life with my 6 month old son under my arm. I don't expect a keyboard warrior like you to understand. I have seen first hand what happens when our gov. fails us. People look like exploding pumpkins when they hit from 80+ stories.Once again I don't expect you to understand. Shit you probably thing Iraq had something to do with it, judging from your slant on things. I agree that there was a failure on every level, but this is the second time that Bush has fucked up. First time, by not putting terrorism on the front burner, when he was warned by everyone who knew. Maybe do a little light reading, it's called the 9-11 report. Second by not being there when he was needed, as there was no other leadership. You can't honestly say, that he should have been in California the day after this disaster. Get real. I can't believe, just from a political standpoint alone, that it would look better if he was at the white house. Even if he wasn't doing anything, just the idea that he was, would have made him look a hell of a lot better. He wants a legacy. I can tell you what it is gonna be, The most corrupt, and inept administration that we have ever had. Remember, they still are working on that investigation about Rove. These guys make Nixon look like a fucking saint. I voted for his father, but the best part of this president will be when he leaves office. |

I truly appreciate the time you spent on this post and I now have a clearer view of your perspective and viewpoint. A true rarity on GFY, but hopefully a sign of things to come. With that said, you are correct, I was in my home glued to the TV (not jacking off as you suggest), watching the entire situation unfold. I would have been there in person if the airlines were not grounded. The event could only truly be understood on the ground, a vantage point you had. With this said, of course the troops were on the ground. The command and control structure of the State of New York was in full action that day. From the first line of defense, the civil servants, you can not deny the efforts of the NYPD and FDNY in the first seconds of the event. This was key. Contrast that with New Orleans. The cops resigned, fled, and some killed themselves. Difference? Yes. Did the Mayor of NYC take full control? Yes. Are you denying Guiliani did not control the situation with his comand structure? From the second it happened he was there and the first phase was being handled by those entrusted with public safety (NYPD, FDNY, etc.) Contrast that with New Orleans' mayor. Did he have control? Troops. If you recall the Governor of New York declared a state of emergency and the troops were in NYC within 24 hours. A governor's duty, not a federal duty. Contrast that with the Governor of LA. None of my statements are defending the actions of George W Bush, I was pointing out that your comments placed the blame solely on him which is not the case. The state and local governments are the first line in of defense in crisis. New Orleans and L.A. dropped the ball. I will stand with you and criticize anyone in a leadership role, if you are also there to point the finger of blame from start to finish. |

You are forgetting a couple of HUGE differences in the two. 1. our national guard wasn't halfway across the world, when they should be here. 2.We were supposed to be prepared for this now. Did you know that Walmart sent truckloads of water the next day, but FEMA turned them away. The president appointed these people to their positions. FEMA, homeland security. They weren't voted on, they were his choices, and very bad ones. Who should we blame for that? |

Let me say that again, I would die (defined as: sacrifice my life and well being) in the struggle for true freedom for future generations. There are not many who would do the same, because it is has become far too easy to accept things for what we have today. If you continue to accept the decay of freedoms we once enjoyed (the slow boil), at what point will people say, "Hey shit is fucked up, we are living in a dictatorship" Unfortunately most people believe government is an extension of their Mommy. Government is necessary, and the bigger the better... It is this way of thinking the perpetuates bigger and bigger government (Mommy), while at the same time reducing the freedoms of the people of this world. I say world, because my comments are directed at the entire world, not my cozy homes in 'first' world nations. Do you live a just life? Do you wake up and want to hurt people? Do you know what is best for you and you family? If you agree with the above statements, then why would you let a faceless entity dictate large portions of your freedom? Freedom is a gift and a right that has been shat upon for too long. People assume that this is the way it has to be, instead of actively destroying the parts of society that infringe on our rights we give little piece of ourselves and our freedom to adjust to these things. I do not say these things to insult people, or people's views, it pains me to see people so willing to give away their freedoms and rights. Is that such a bad thing to fight for? If you feel nothing is worth fighting for, then we as a civilized society are doomed. -dd |

2. The fingers of blame would take 10 hands, if we choose to go this route. My point from the very start of this dialog, was that you can not blame one man for this entire fiasco. Yes, I did see that FEMA turned away these trucks. This issue alone should be reason enough to come down hard on FEMA. {This is not a slam on the drivers of the trucks} Why didn't one of these drivers say "Fuck you! People are dying I am bringing this in". This is a clear example of how far the PEOPLE of this country have allowed the Federal Govt to control their lives and their nature. Do you think the drive of that truck wanted to turn around? I doubt it. From the driver's point of view, if he disobeyed, he would be destroyed... Jail, fines, or even killed. Our entire government is composed of humans. Unfortunately we live in a society with people who are too afraid to make a decision. Why does a General from Army have to land and start barking orders for people to fall in line? I believe because people have been conditioned, to give up their normal thought process and hand it to others. This alone speaks to the larger issue this entire country has fallen into and that is people are too scared to make a decision. This has not happened overnight... it has developed over a period of time. When you have a large segment of society that is too gun shy to make a move, things like this happen. |

Who should be to blame for natural disasters? Mother Nature? I can see you want to play the blame game. I'm truely sorry Bush didn't leave Crawford, walk on the Gulf, and tell Katrina to head to China. Maybe we should blame the French... after all didn't they build the city? ![]() I'm personally sorry for much more, though I didn't vote for Bush....

I kid you not he actually said " God just washed away the sinners in that hedonistic city" First I laughed in his face, then I called him on being a good christian and saying that god killed those innocent people. People like this truely amaze me. So blind with faith, that they can't see what's going on around them.
