What is Ron Harris Talking About...

So What's this all about? Got this in an e-mail from his program...

And on the subject of good business practices, we just want to say that there are quite a few sites out there (who shall remain nameless) that are encouraging their affiliates to use special, shorter CCBill codes. These special codes come in different shapes and sizes, but they all have one thing in common - THEY DO NOT WORK AND THEY ARE STEALING FROM YOU. When you use a full CCBill linking code, as we recommend you do on CashBoxOffice, the link first goes to CCBill and your affiliate number is registered and then the code drops off. That's what you WANT to happen. The code dropping off is proof that it's been registered with CCBill and you will be credited for a sale through the cookie. But with the short codes, if you click on them and follow them, the affiliate number never drops off, which means that CCBill is NOT receiving that code, which means you are NOT receiving credit for that cookie.

So PLEASE - do yourself a favor and only use the regular CCBill referral codes as we describe them in our linking codes section, and you will then be paid! We will never steal from you. Bottom line. We treat our affiliates with the respect and honesty they deserve.

I'm guessing they meant when linking to hosted galleries.

It was a polite way of saying shaving is possible if you link to http://www.sponsordomain.com/gallery/xxxxxx rather than http://www.ccbillstuff&url=sponsordomain.com/gallery

Cookies are still a particularly unreliable way of tracking people
