the speeds for their servers are really "up and down", anyone using them have the same problem? their new DC just opened, over sold is not an issue I assume.

I have been interested in Servermatrix for a while now, but whenever I try to find anybody who has used them, I run up against a brick wall.

I am assuming that like many things, if it seems too good, it probably is!

I have been a customer for a little over a year and don't have anything bad to say about them. The bandwidth is there I think. I don't use much though...

Here are 2 random graphs from November and this month... no real dips or anything, pretty solid. I wouldn't pick them if you ever need any hand holding. If you need hand holding, a managed server from MojoHost would be your best bet.

None that I have noticed.... I did have once instance this month where I did a reboot and the server didn't come back... they have remote consoles so I was able to take care of it myself.

I am also load balanced, so I don't mind one server going down...

are you with TP? servermatrix's box is perfect, but the traffic is a bit "unstable". we choose SM over TP, because SM doesn't bundle any manage plan, so we can have all of our servers taken care at acunett.

SM doesn't offer management, but all their servers have remote serial consoles and rebooters...

I've got a box over there. Seems to be holding up ok...There's an occasional hiccup but nothing disasterous.

Not really - it depends what plan you go for. They oversell the serverextreme bandwidth in a HUGE way but their regular servers are generally OK as they have more than cogent available.

I don't have speed issues but then the stuff I have hosted there is lower bandwidth or non-adult. The higher BW adult stuff is on a host that specialises in adult.

Not the best speed, we used them in the past.
But they are very good for the price.

I've been with them for about a year or so, I'd recommend them.

For some reason my hard drive had a problem yesterday (somehow nearly all home directories disappeared) and it's taking a bit of back and forth to get the hardware replaced. Hopefully it'll be resolved soon... I was expecting less of a response considering it's easter weekend and all, though they've been pretty good...

except the support guy that was trying to talk to me on the phone and type to someone else

i believe SM is in infomart in Dallas, the bandwidth is there, they've got good peering arrangements but when you offer 1200GB/month for prices under $100 overselling is going to be a big issue
