Optical mouse spazzing out?

What does it mean? It's only a week old (my optical USB mouse) and now when I refresh a page the cursor spazzes all over the screen for half a second. Is this common? Or is it return policy time?

If you have the mouse on a magazine or a wood grain table or something it won't work right. You need to use a surface that isn't reflective and has the same general color throughout... no ripples and shit like that.

I use mine on woodgrain. I even use it on my lap. Not sure what crappy brand of mouse you are using.

It kind sounds like your cord is messed up

Well, I took it off the pebbled-look desktop (black) and put it on a regular mousepad, and it got a bit better, but is still doing it.
