I saw it.......but I still thought that American Me was better. One of my best friends grew up in Echo Park and had told me ALL about these stories before they made the movie. I was actually dating some Mexican girls from that area also and so I had to meet all of their borthers, uncles, fathers and male cousins in order to be allowed to date them. We would spend Sundays with the families, all the guys sitting talking and drinking. There were some "interesting" things going on in East LA. That movie was very true to life and included some very real stories.

Having family that still lives in East L.A., I've come to the conclusion that it can be one of the prettiest concrete jungles during the day (murals and cultura), and one of the most dangerous places at night.
