I agree that John Lennon was talented but Eminem is a fuckin genius. You obviously do not understand his ability to write, rap and produce. I'd like to see you flow without tripping over your own thoughts.

Your assertion that Eminem's stuff is somehow improvised or spontaneous is laughable. He is a product, like a McDonalds Happy Meal.

To compare him to the greatest lyricist of the 20th century is not only insulting but displays a real ignorance of Lennon's body of work, the depth of his talent and his far reaching artistic influence.

Lennon will be remembered, listened to and his work appreciated and discussed long after Eminem is relegated to the trashcan of popular culture.

I am not arguing that John Lennon wasn't a talented person. He most definitely was.

If you believe Eminem is just a product to be compared with a McDonald's happy meal, you obviously do not conphrehend the depth of skill it takes to put his lyrics into words. It's sheer talent whether improvised or well planned, if everyone could do it, there would be 20 million other white rappers. So if he is a product, he is an original one. He doesn't spit out words that the industry assigns him, he came with his own. Unlike other singers, who just sing what's given to them on paper.

Just don't even try and put Lennon and Eminem in the same category. It's ignorant and uninformed.

Lennon was a musical pioneer who constantly experimented with many different genres of music... but if you had even the simplest grasp of his body of work this would be obvious. He wasn't just talented, he was the Mozart or Beethoven of the 20th century.

Can Eminem even play a musical instrument?

I never compared Lennon to Eminem. I was simply saying, that Eminem is ALSO talented. They are 2 different types of artists, both of them however, changed their genre.

I like both of them very much and I'm not trying to defame either one, but I happen to think Eminem is just as talented and deserves more credit than some people would like to give him.

yes hes fucking great, but his style was kind of copied from big L.
listen to big L and tell me if he changed the genre, he advanced the genre if anything. He made it mainstream, im not bashing eminem, but lennon invented and changed peoples lives. rap is a now a form of political expression amongst other things. where do you think that came from?
too bad big l is dead, he was underated.
if you know eminem youd know he came out right after him and perfected his style with his help.
but yes eminem is very talented.

No he's not just as talented.

Get back to me in 2025 and we'll see how his stuff has aged.

Okay, Lennon and Eminem aren't even comparable.....but even worse is Lennon and Mozart.

Given The Beatles changed modern music as we know it in their time, Eminem did the same for his era. Both controversial, both brilliant, and both would be willing to give the other credit for their art.

Niether could independandtly compose symphonies, concertos or a full length opera by age twelve though.
