Working out and Eating Right... My Success story.

I have seen many of you putting up your success stories and telling about how this industry and sitting behind a computer all day has made you fat... I guess it is my turn.

To say I was obese is probably pushing it. But I was well on the way to a very unhealthy lifestyle. I was eating about once a day. Eating a lot of sugars and carbs. Very little protein. Here I am two years ago pretty much to the day at the June Internext.



I topped out at about 230. I am 6 foot so this is still not bad. But as we know muscle weighs more than fat and I was not carrying around much muscle at this time. I was about a 38 inch waist and growing. After I got back from this show I really started to get dedicated after seeing this picture and someone commenting on how round my face was getting. So enter the gym and I started reading just about everything I could get my hands on about eating better and working out properly. I was already playing Softball and soccer regularly so the Cardio was already there. My biggest problem was my eating.

Well it has been a long road and I have made it down to 180 after about two years. Now I am concentrating on putting on about 10 lbs of lean muscle and keeping myself healthy. I am in the best shape of my life and eating better than ever.



It is great to hear so many people on this board turning over a new leaf to get healthy. Keep up the good work!

i used to be tubby, i went from 190 to 150 in 3 months. Back to 165 and its half muscle half fat i put back on. I did lose some muscle on my weight loss trip, cuzz it was a fast one.

I too, am on the slow path to a better way.... but it's a bitch. My worst problem right now is eating. I almost never eat. Eating to me is a necessary time consuming evil, not a pleasure, so I only eat when I'm ready to pass out from lack of food. Trying to work on fixing that this summer...

I was in the same boat Eric. I'm 6'2" and of fairly lean build, but I ended up sedentary for 6mos due to an overuse injury and went from 170 to 220. The fact it happened over the holiday season made it worse.. too much food + a bottle or two of wine a day.

Been dropping a couple of pounds a week for the last few months.

Cograts eric I have droped from 215 to 178 now since november got a little more to go and the gym starts in August so far all I have done is changed my eating I think my diet is 60% sushi instead of 90% fast food

glad it's gone

I think if you bulk some muscle and go up to about 195 you'll be just right. You look good in both pics but too skinny in the 2nd pic.

wow, Congrats! It's no wonder all the women at the shows go GA GA when they see you. LOL

I'm about at the worst physical shape in my whole life... 5'11" and about 190. I'm trying to get psyched up here to start working out, I've had a membership at Bally's that I've paid for but not used in 8 years.. and I just bought a new family membership for Melissa and I to Lifetime Fitness. SO, the plan is to get my tubby ass in shape so I can start feeling and looking better soon

Ive met the majority of the webmasters here in person and lets just say you are all one bunch of dirty mother fuckers. Chances are you arent loosing the weight becasue of working out, its because of all the dirty strippers you befriend at these shows.

I am experiencing the opposite, cant get any weight for shit, i eat
like a machine, you name it i eat it, home cooking, fast food, junk,
top restuarants, sushi, the whole fuckin story.

Anyone got any advise on how to get some weight? i am not that
active either, i did do some gym shit before, but not consistant
enough. I am defined [cut up] and all muscles show nicely, but i
need more weight.

If anyone thinks they can help, i can post a picture. i am 5'9 - 145

It's not how much you weigh or what you eat so much -- or even how you work out...

What matters is how you process that food, how you use your body.

I started running early in the summer -- wanted to get that runners high again -- naturally lost a lot of weight -- the lighter you are the less effort your body needs to exert for fluid movement.

Your body is a machine -- keep it running efficient. With the body that doesn't mean pampering every process -- each component must be pushed, tested and maximized.

Thanks all.

Yeah I want to put on some of the weight again. But I want to do it in the right way. With Muscle. I figure over the summer I should pretty much expect to stay about the same or maybe gain 5 or so lbs. But in the winter when I don't have to worry about peeling off the clothes at the pool or the lake. I will hit the food and the gym even harder.

And Boneprone. Virus? Maybe that is why you are gaining all the weight. I think those tongue warts may have spread. You dirty stripper licking bastard!

I've got this same problem. Eating first meal is more than a chore, easies into routine and then I pig out right before sleep, obviously with extra reserves.

Well, Eric, youre definitely the hottie of the conventions, so no worries!

I put on about 25 pounds a few years ago, sitting in front of a computer all day, drinking beer with friends a couple of times a week, and eating sporadically without thought to nutrition or health. I gain weight well, but I got sick of people telling me I was "voluptuous" or "big-boned" when I know Im actually very small framed. (139 pounds)

I dropped the beer, started eating at least 3 times a day and planning meals, and I workout 3 times a week strength training (HATE treadmills)... and now I weigh less than I did when I was 17 years old. (112 pounds)

So to all you fatties out there, YOU CAN DO IT!

And maybe one day, YOU TOO, can be as hot as Eric and I are now...

Sounds like you have some genetic thing a friend and her dad has. Go to a doctor to get checked out first of all. The only thing she has been able to do is put on muscle mass, which means eating a lot of protein and working out 5 times a week.

Geez, all of you guys trying to lose weight, I'm here trying to GAIN weight... It's so hard.

I'm eating about a bag of chips each day and at least a couple hamburgers thrown in for good measure between my main meals.

I still am skinny.
