Reporting about the existence of an opposition research document, and it's contents, is legit CNN, NBC news.

Reporting opposition research, out of context, as actual news, is what Breitbart, Fox, alt-right, etc do.

And here is an article saying Trump was briefed, and intelligence officials are defending the reasons why they briefed him.

According the article "Trump was told about the information during a meeting with top intelligence officials last Friday.".

Intel officials defend briefing Trump on unverified allegations

Did you even read that article?

Your article says the direct opposite - that Trump was briefed:

Multiple officials say that the summary was included in the material prepared for the briefers, but the senior official told NBC News that the briefing was oral and no actual documents were handed to the Trump team.

Nope it was included in the briefs as an example of disinformation.

"According to the official, the two-page summary about the unsubstantiated material made available to the briefers was to provide context, should they need it, to draw the distinction for Trump between analyzed intelligence and unvetted “disinformation.”

You are so dense sometimes.

They said that they told him about it AFTER the briefing. And then ONLY as an example of FALSE intel.

Read CLOSER:
"A summary of the unverified reports was prepared as background material for the briefing, but not discussed during the meeting, the official said. During Trump's press conference Wednesday morning, the president-elect said he was made aware of the information "outside that meeting."

"According to the senior official, the two-page summary about the unsubstantiated material made available to the briefers was to provide context, should they need it, to draw the distinction for Trump between analyzed intelligence and unvetted "disinformation."

Robbie acting the fool once again. In typical Robbie fashion he takes one little bit of information to claim everything else is fake.

In this case, the orginal story claimed Trump was briefed on these papers. This is what officials orginaly stated.

Robbie's entire basis of denial is that a head official later came back and said Trump wasn't briefed on the full files but only a oral briefing of a 2 page summary of the details.

This is all it takes in Robbie's world to claim he's right. Such grand delusion. Sad.

Btw no where in Robbie's link does it say any of the articles or news was fake. As every article has said since the beginning, the full document has not been fully vetted or verified. This was known since day one.

No major network has ever claimed it was. Also every major news organizations has also stated exactly where the document came from. No one has tried to hide that.

This is typical right wing brainwashing at play. Just say something over and over then it becomes fact in their minds. This is why they like Trump because when he lies to them, he always says it 3 times....

In this case they claim fake news over and over until they convenience themselves, because that's what their big daddy Trump tells them to think.

Sad.

It isn't a real intelligence document. MSM played fast and loose with their ethics and got trolled. Are you seriously implying that what is written in that document might actually be factual? Because if you go back to the beginning of this thread you were on the wagon believing that they were serious accusations. Dude.. It was said from the beginning that it came from a former MI5 guy, that now does private contracting. Literally every major news source said this and was very open about it. No one tried to hide that, so why are you trying to make it out like it's some new thing?

Why did DT deny Russia's involvement for so long then? Didn't he even ask Russia to hack Clinton at his last press conference?

So 6 months ago press conference Trump asks Russia to hack Clinton, then constantly denies knowing if Russia actually hacked her for 6 months, while complimenting Russia at every turn, then yesterday, 6 months later, admits Russia hacked Clinton.

Yes this was known since it was released. The info of him being respected and a reliable informant was said in the 1st article about these papers.

Only the Trumplets seem to ignore this info because it doesn't fit the "fake news" narrative their Führer tells them to believe. Meanwhile Trumplets here on GFY with no proof tried to call him a Russian spy because he is saying things they don't like.. Meanwhile they cry about fake news, which is code word for anything bad about the Führer..

Opposition research dossiers are done on every candidate by their opponents.

The dossiers are made for private consumption by the campaig and are composed of factual dirt actually dug up in the candidate, as well as possible lines of attacks, based on lies, that would be effective based on public perception.

If that's an actuall opposition research dossier it will have fact and fiction.

Rochard, we can't "disagree" on facts. Something either happened or it didn't.

The Intelligence people had a 2 page document. They never showed it to Trump. They didn't even TALK about it in the briefing.
AFTER the briefing was over and they had all left the room together...they are walking and talking and one of them told Trump about the rumor in that document.

And he told Trump that the rumor was an example of false intel as opposed to what they were presenting him with in the actual intelligence briefing which was vetted and analyzed intel.

That's what I've been trying to say in every post I made.

Trump is right. CNN is full of shit. And if you had watched them on CNN when they cut in to interrupt the Senate confirmation hearings for the "Breaking News" you would know that.
It was Jake Tapper, Carl Bernstein, and about a half-dozen others sitting on stools with HUGE smiles on their faces.

And they proceeded to take full credit for "breaking" the story on national television and bragged about how hard they had worked over several weeks to confirm the story.

Then the next day after Trump destroyed them in the press conference AND the Intel chiefs said the story was false...THEN they tried to say that their reporting was STILL correct because they were just saying that Trump had been given a 35 page dossier in his Intel briefing.

That too turned out to be FALSE.

I'm not arguing whether Trump is "good" or "bad".
I think he's gonna be great and the economy is gonna roar. You think he's insane and sucks and it's gonna be really bad.

We aren't changing each other's minds. The truth will be revealed over the next few years as the economy either takes off...or goes tits up. :)

I'm just discussing the same thing I've been babbling about for the last 2 years....the media is so in the tank for the Democrat Party that it's lost any sense of journalistic integrity.

They are like Agent Fox Moulder on "The X Files"...they WANT to believe.
And what they want to believe is anything and everything that might hurt Trump.

That's just bad journalism.
It's no wonder the public doesn't trust them.

You are mistaken.. Robbie doesn't actually debate about facts or to find the truth. Robbie has always tried to nit pick very specific things apart to claim he wins and that he was always right.. (Remember Robbie claiming there was a stand down order in Benghazi.. we argued about that for weeks and even after it was proven false he still argued it was true, never accepting he was wrong)

Honestly, Robbie is worse than the other lemon heads, because he knows what he's doing and he doesn't care if he's pushing a false narrative, only that he can say he's right about some little detail.

The funny thing is he's still wrong about his little tiny detail in this topic.. Honestly I realize he can string two words together , which is more than the other GFY conserabros can do, but it's really no reason to give respect to someone who continues to argue half truths even when called out on it. He's knows he's lying to you which makes him worse than the other idiots who actually believe their nonsense.

Robbie is one of the worst guys here for bullshitting.

Look exactly at what he's doing here.. His entire issue to claim it's "ALL" BS is that he claims they didn't "show" Trump the 2 page document. That's his entire argument and his logic to claim all this is made up, simply because 1 official said they briefed Trump and a 2nd said they didn't. (the actual "real" difference was 1 official claimed they briefed him "with" the documents, the other claimed it was oral.. (Ie Trump was briefed either way, but just wasn't clear on how)

Robbie doesn't care about the actual facts, but rather he can say he's right therefore everything else is wrong. The funny part is he's still wrong..

Does that seem like a reasonable argument to determine if a document is fake or not?

Does it always seem that these kinds of things spend a lot of time asking the nominees about their personal feelings on issues that the job has nothing to do with?
And you're right. Every President has a cabinet that doesn't necessarily agree with him on issues.
Just like millions of Americans may not agree with their boss.
But at the end of the day, you present your opinion and hope the boss can be swayed...if not, you still do your job as the boss directs you to.

I didn't know that he had a history of that.

As I understood his cabinet picks...they are men he considers to be peers as opposed to being "underlings". So I'm guessing (that as he said in the campaign), he will be open to their advisements on issues that he isn't familiar with.

Of course...they will do as the President directs them to in the big picture.

But I'm thinking that Trump is very good at building a team around himself to achieve what he wants to get done.

Of course you have every right to disagree with what he wants to achieve...or rather the means to achieve it (end unfair trade, repatriate trillions of dollars from U.S. company's operating overseas, destroy ISIS, bring back jobs).

But I don't think that any of us have ever worked at the level of Trump in this world. At least I never met anybody from GFY with billions of dollars...though you would have thought so from some of the bragging that many of us have done. lol

I'm gonna question his decisions (like the wall...I thought it was a bad idea when Congress passed the bill to build it in 2006, and I think it's a bad idea in 2017)...but I don't think I'm qualified to criticize a guy at his level on his team building and organizational skills.

'It's fake news' – Russian IT expert on alleged ties to Trump & Kremlin cooperation

"Gubarev told RT he will now take legal action against Steele over false claims. "We are 100 percent filing a lawsuit against Christopher Steele who created this report and his company in the United Kingdom. We are already working on that." The XBT chief said that a “competitor” might be behind the allegations against his company, while “another option” would be his professional activity.

"Recently I was giving some comments to Bloomberg,” Gubarev said in the interview with RT. The IT expert stated to Bloomberg that there was "no connection between Donald Trump servers and Alfa Bank servers.”

“It was a technical analysis from our site which we sent to Bloomberg." It was reported in November that a server owned by Alfa Bank (listed in paper published on Buzzfeed), allegedly had communications with a server hosting the Trump Organization It was reported in November that a server owned by Alfa Bank (listed in paper published on Buzzfeed), allegedly had communications with a server hosting the Trump Organization domain address. Yet there has been no serious evidence backing the claim.

So it appears Christopher 007 was just grabbing shit off the internet for his "intelligence Report"

sarettah 01-12-2017 04:12 PM

Actually, it is pretty much fact that servers at alfa bank and a server using a domain name registered to the trump org were in communications with each other.

This is slates write up of it but there are others out there if for some reason you don't trust slate.

Was a server registered to the Trump Organization communicating with Russiaā€™s Alfa Bank?

It dawned on the researchers that this wasn’t an attack, but a sustained relationship between a server registered to the Trump Organization and two servers registered to an entity called Alfa Bank.
Nobody is real sure what the relation between the servers was/is but they definitely talk back and forth to each other even if it is just an error loop or some such. I have read elsewhere that the alfa servers were just doing some dns pings against the server.

This is slates write up of it but there are others out there if for some reason you don't trust slate.

Was a server registered to the Trump Organization communicating with Russia?s Alfa Bank?
