US abstention allows UN to demand end to Israeli settlements

US abstention allows UN to demand end to Israeli settlements

Will Israel comply or say

Then what?

The vote was 14 to 0.
United States, France, Russia, Britain and China all have veto power.

Claiming the the US alone "allowed" something to happen here is not true.

The US was the only country poised to veto. The rest get what Israel is about. The world gets it at this point.

I have to agree with you on another point though. I don't think Trump will last 2017.

Israel needs to stop this already. They cannot continue building settlements on land they physically do not have. This is like the United States suddenly moving the border with Mexico back ten miles and building a new city there. That's illegal.

That wouldn't fit Paul's new narrative of blaming the US for everything wrong in the world. .

It's been US vetos that have allowed Israel to steal land.

Anyone else tries to steal land in that area and the US sends troops.

As the US has allowed Israel to steal land and put Palestinians into a ghetto. Maybe the US should rehouse them. Problem is they only want what was theirs back.

I agree. All Presidents are shackled by the big money donors. As long as that tail wags the dog, Palestinians are fucked.

The U.S. provides Israel $10.2 million* in military aid each day, ... Israel receives about $3 billion in direct foreign assistance each year, which is roughly one-fifth of America's entire foreign aid budget. In per capita terms, the United States gives each Israeli a direct subsidy worth about $500 per year.

When you're #1 or #2 you are the most influential on the World.

But you're wrong. I blame Americans for not having the guts to vote out bought and paid for politicians. EU for making a mess or Europe, China for taking US jobs, sorry that was the fault of big money US political donors.

Why would anyone be in favour of stealing any countries land?

Now tell us why the US would want to veto the endless expansion of these settlements.

Crimea ? South China sea?

I say we let them settle in Florida, offer it to them to make Florida their country. They've been great allies and will continue to be. They are good people just looking to make a country of their own.

you dumb libs always like to import illegals, then make the public have to deal with the blowback, while you dumb libs reside in gated communities.
