Planet Oil

BBC.Planet.Oil.1of3.PDTV.x264.AAC.MVGroup.org - Video Dailymotion

Take some time out to watch it. The documentary shows how it was first discovered as a resource, exploited, made billionaires, nearly collapsed and now the most essential resource we have.

Absolutely fantastic series. I also recommend The Continents also by Iain Stewart.

Excellent Documentary.

Although oil is destroying our environment and causing global warming.

We still have to be thankful for the discovery. It revolutionized the world.

The next step is to get away from oil now that we are slowly creating better technology and finding better energy sources.

Oil someday will be a thing of the past and we will be talking about the horrible days of oil, and evil oil companies.

In order for us to move on, we must fall first.

I look forward to this day.

Thank you for sharing this video.

Hey Paul, lol, Oil is on its way out, well the majority of the air pollution it causes, oil has too many uses to go extinct.

Getting away from oil won't be the problem. Producing enough of the alternative at a price most can afford, will be.

We can nuclear power station, but they won't make plastic and a lot of other by products. And not much use in Third world Countries and their by product is very dangerous.

Liquid oil is cheap compared to the alternatives. The cheapest reserves are long gone. Here in Europe we pay $5 a gallon, most of it tax. Think of alternatives to Gasoline costing $5 a gallon without tax.

Now think of how many uses it has, including the food we eat.

Can the Third World afford food prices to sky rocket? Some parts yes, as they revert to massive farms with crops picked by manual labour. To sell to the West at 200% more.

Land that won't support farming, have a real problem. China has a massive one with 1.5 billion hungry people and a large military.

What's certain is the world will change dramatically, even to the point of being like Blade Runner. It may be healthier, as forest grow back. Or unhealthier as we revert to coal.

As the alternatives to petroleum are decriminalized, who knows.
