Kiev says its forces clashed with Russian troops inside Ukraine

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/...0GF13120140815

Quote:
(Reuters) - Ukraine said its forces had attacked and partly destroyed a Russian armoured column that entered Ukrainian territory overnight, a firefight which if confirmed would mark a dramatic worsening of the conflict.

Russia's government denied its forces had crossed into Ukraine, and accused Kiev of trying to sabotage deliveries of aid, but European capitals accused the Kremlin of escalating the fighting.

Kiev and its Western allies have in the past repeatedly accused Russia of arming pro-Moscow separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine, and of sending undercover military units onto Ukrainian soil.

true But if it is able for the first time to show the remains of Russian military vehicles captured or destroyed on its territory, that would give extra force to Kiev's allegations - and possibly spark a new round of sanctions against the Kremlin.

Andriy Lysenko, a spokesman for the Ukrainian military, told a news briefing that Kiev's forces had picked up a Russian military column crossing the border under cover of darkness.

"Appropriate actions were undertaken and a part of it no longer exists," Lysenko said.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko briefed British Prime Minister David Cameron on the incident and told him a "significant" part of the Russian column had been destroyed, according to statement from Poroshenko's office.

Britain summoned Russia's ambassador to ask him to clarify reports of a military incursion into Ukraine.

Earlier on Friday, responding to reports that a Russian column had entered Ukraine overnight, NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said the alliance had seen what he called a Russian incursion into Ukraine.

"It just confirms the fact that we see a continuous flow of weapons and fighters from Russia into eastern Ukraine and it is a clear demonstration of continued Russian involvement in the destabilisation of eastern Ukraine," the Danish NATO chief said.

A spokesman for Russia's border guards service was quoted by Russian news agencies as denying that any Russian military units had entered Ukraine.

In a statement issued by the Russian foreign ministry, Moscow accused Ukrainian forces of intensifying the fighting against pro-Moscow separatists in eastern Ukraine in an attempt to sabotage Russian efforts to get aid into rebel-held areas.

After Ukraine reported the firefight, Russia's rouble currency weakened against both the dollar and the euro. Russian shares were also dragged lower.

The dollar hit a three-week low against the safe-haven Swiss franc, benchmark German 10-year Bund yields fell about 4 basis points to a new record low of 0.962 percent and European stocks sold off, led by the Russia-exposed German DAX index.

About the markings, it's not that hard to take them off and have some fresh paint. Works either way, but I mean that nothing forces Russia to have any markings on it's vehicles.

Last night there was multiple news reports of "23 Russian armored vehicles" that crossed the border into Ukraine. I didn't post it because I wasn't sure of how trustworthy the website(s) were; One of the was the Guardian that claimed "Western journalists" witnessed the crossing first hand.

We have satellites in space that track everything. Earlier on in the conflict the US tracked three armored vehicles move across Russia, and all the way into Ukraine. You just cannot hide this stuff from satellites any more.

Russia is directly responsible for all what is happening in Ukraine right now. Even the top two so called "Rebel" leaders are Russian, and both of them quit and (surprise!) returned to Russia yesterday.

Sheep!

You will belive anything people tell you, if it fits your current perspective.

Have you seen those satellite images? no
They may be as real as the WMD in Iraq they had "solid evidence" of

As US Senator Hiram Warren Johnson is purported to have said: The first casualty when war comes is truth

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Your propaganda needs a reality check. There are three ways of removing a president under ukrainian law: one is his death, the other is when he personally steps down, and the third is impeachment. None of this ever happened. So I have no idea what you're talking about.

Rochard as a former solder, you have to be smart enough to understand even with satellite technology like we have, they can only view so many things at one time.

While of course yes we can spot these troop movements, we can't watch them all 100% of the time. The individual surveillance of this type is usually done by drones, something the US doesn't have in place at this point.

If Ukraine really destroyed Russian convoy, Kiev would broadcast video everywhere and invite press to view wreckage but not even a picture. Kiev has been caught lying 100's of times now...

Technically Russia attacked to Ukraine, if that armed vehicle thing is true. Ukraine just killed the attacker.

I completely disagree.

I have no idea what satellite technology we have "today". I might be somewhat familiar with the kinds of satellite technology we had up into the 1980s.

With that said, I've seen what technology exists today in the civilian world for tracking. They have tracking so sophisticated that when you walk in a store, they track your every moment, can tell exactly what you are looking at, and even tell when you are confused and need help and automatically send someone over to help you. If that is not enough, they can match you up to purchase, track you through your credit card, and compare your last visit to other visits. On a larger scale, local city governments track people on the streets - they assign each person an ID number and can track how many stores they went in to, how long they stayed, and even determine if they purchased something.

If you don't think the United States has a satellite technology that can track a few thousand tanks... You are kidding yourself.

Even if they did not have the technology, they would still be able to track it - just like how they tracked progress of the Russian missile bases in Cuba. They took pictures every day, and then compared pictures from one day to the next. Fast forward forty years and I am guessing they can take pictures every sixty seconds and instantly view them - and track anything they want.

That's funny.....

On 22 February, the Ukrainian parliament voted to remove him from his post, on the grounds that he was unable to fulfill his duties, although the legislative removal lacked the number of votes required by Ukraine's then-current constitution. Parliament set 25 May as the date for the special election to select his replacement, and, two days later, issued a warrant for his arrest, accusing him of "mass killing of civilians."

Seems to me the entire government wanted him out of office, Parliament set a special election, and then made moves to have him arrested. Eventually he fled the country.

Lol then you are the 3rd one. All your attacks always against Russia, you never acknowledge how stupid your government is. CyberSEO at least recognized his president is not prefect. I never seen any word from you against your government. It is called propaganda.

i did stated a few times that the new government is corrupted and the people at Maidan didn't recognize politicians, and Poroshenko gets limited approval. Maidan gave birth to new age people, which are fighting against the old corrupted machine.

rusia is definite evil, ruskie are zombies. Ukrainian ppl are wiser than current politicians, but we have a lot of troubles because of living next to ruskie/with ruskie for centuries. there're also many shitbags living in Ukraine which turned to shit Maidan in recent months, so ppl stood up and destroyed it, which made ruskie happy, while they were silent on real Maidan and presented it in very bad way. i have no problems with stating such things, so that proves you as lying ruskie bitch next to your friends CyberSeo and evy97

to follow the thread i believe Poroshenko lied about destroyed ruskie war machines. i guess those leaved Ukraine by int diplomatic pressure. not sure what's the reason to lie about it. btw there's a site http://www.stopfake.org/en/news/ which does fact checking for both ruskie and Ukrainian media.

People who say they hate their neighbours do not seem to realise how stupid they look to people on the outside.

To the outsider a Russian and a Ukrainian are peas in a pod. The same.

The English fought the Welsh, the Scottish, the Irish the French etc for hundreds of years....because they were different?

That is the negative side of nationalism, that your people are better than the rest.

What is exciting about New York and London is they are international cities where there are good and bad people but they don't all belong to one nationality.

It is a world economy we are one world. The are bad governments but no bad peoples.

just go to rusia, live there for a year, then say
you do agree there's a difference between european and muslim, american and chinese, do u? ruski are ppl of different kind, they are not european, they are some sort of asian fascists, you can't imagine the scale of their constant lie, because you don't know them. i've been in rusia many times, the way they live (poor, shitty) and what they show on TV is totally different. it's blatant propaganda which makes ruskie think they are right and that the whole world is against them.

ruskie tourists are hated all over the world because the way they behave. they get there money from oil/gas or by stealing govn funds (the rich ones). the regular citizens work for those ppl, but attitude there is terrible. they produce nothing, they import most of the goods people need. but the fuckers are fucking dare and messing in every place they get

btw Ukrainian army was pretty much successful in killing ruskie terrorists in recent days. 2 biggest cities in region Donets and Lugansk are about to be cleared from ruskie in the next few days.
intelligence reports that nowadays there're very few Ukrainian people among terrorists, most of them are ruskie and chechens. Ukraine army pretty soon becomes one of the best world armies with that attitude. pootin is really scared by success of our troops. that's why he is that slow with escalating conflict: world pressure + strenghtening Ukrainian army. ruskie have no decent war allies all over the world. and ruskie are really weak when it comes to war. they are good at pretending and scaring, but they can't deliver a shit.

It's a war zone, not the block down the street. It took time to get very much information about the airliner that was shot down as well. Not like Russia or the Rebels are going to blast the media with pictures when they are denying it happened and it's not like journalist or the Ukrainians can just waltz into rebel controlled territory to snap some pictures to win an argument on the internet.

At this point I'd say Ukraine has much more credibility than Russia. Russia is the one that has lied every step of the way. Ukraine is not perfect, but at least they haven't been lying constantly about what they are doing.

The rulers got others to fight for the land, but hatred of the foreigner was used to achieve that aim.

I know lots of Russians and have travel in Russia and the Ukraine. I found the people there to be very nice people.
