Who is using Adwords?

So about 6 weeks ago I created an adwords campaign for one of our solo model sites. I have been daily adjusting the 1st place bid for the keyword of the model name to get top placement for her name. I am wondering what kind of results anyone else might be getting from using adwords as opposed to an industry specific Text campaign. I find that my CTR is actually VERY good at 1.89% and my conversion ratio has been 1:300 BUT my cost per click and cost to get that new customer is WAY high at about $200 per add. Is anyone else effectively using adwords with better results or is adwords still just to expensive?

It IS real. CTR of almost 2%??? Not .2% i mean a full 2%. I do ad buys frequently and a 2% CTR is pretty fucking amazing on ANY site.

You're using the wrong key words, dude. You are probably trying to hard to get top notch key words. The key to AdWords is to modify it until the point that the cost effectiveness equates to your spending budget. Use BLONDE, BRUNETTE, PETITE, etc.

Also first place isn't KING per se, it's the way the ad is written. Set yourself a budget daily and watch your modifications closely. Skew your ads as the results pour in.

That is what I tried to do but with adwords (at least for me) when i create the keywords, they have to have a certain amount of search volume and be a graded at a certain level before they will even run the keyword. Like if I put 'big boobs' I will be able to run the keyword...but if i put 'big boobs ember reigns' it won't let me. it says the search doesn't get enough volume

I have done that as well. I have tried 3 seperate landing pages and the bounce rates, exit rates, time on page and number of pages is all about the same. As for the conversion ratio, i am not to disappointed in that. Over the last few years the search traffic for this one model has converted at about the same conversion ratio that i am getting from adwords..... I guess I am looking to see if anyone is using google adwords successfully.

You can optimize your terms and ads as Harmon & co said. But I do think with the price point of most paysites and the current conversion averages it's not easy to get a good ROI on Adwords, unless you factor in rebills (and cross sales if applicable). Then it can make more sense. Still, is it the most efficient use of your advertising budget right now, I have my doubts....

2% sounds like a terrible ctr. I get between 7% - 11% with my ads.

This is what I am thinking. That is why I wanted to post it here and see if anyone is actually using adwords besides me for solo membership sites. I appreciate the info.

First buy traffic, whatever keywords you have which are getting under 2ctr, means you are doing it wrong.

keywords -> adgroup -> ad -> landpage has to be clear. you dont buy keyword "big boobs" and send to a website about ember reigns because it is too loose.

if you were to buy big boobs then you write a copy about big boobs for an adgroup that is all about big boobs that has a landing page with big boobs 100s of times everywhere on it. ... but that is not what you are doing, you are doing ember reigns.

you can get roi on adwords for 99% of any products, but the volume might be limited.

Yeah, I should have been clearer on that. In my experience - and it's just that, a little experience, I'm no Adwords expert - the volume of niche traffic that can be made profitable thru AW has been steadily shrinking. Just what I've seen.

I've tried some adwords campaigns myself but even though the conversions were ok , the cost with them was the same so in the end I was not getting much. On the other hand it seems that adwords is very expensive now days and it's so suitable for porn because of the decline in conversion ratio.

Try bing ads, they don't have the same volume but you might get better results.

Okay, so it seems that everyone else is seeing and experiencing the same issues. Adwords just is to expensive for our industry. Now, besides adxpansion, does anyone else know of any ad agencies that have CPC on Search traffic???

... anddddd use exact match. Why bid on broad terms like big boobs when even a search for big boobs are fucking ugly would display your ad? Narrow it down with a scalpel to the finest point where the only option is a click and a buy.

With PPC ads, the customer is entering your domain after having already told you what they want to buy, as long as you bid on the right term in the right way and even at the right time.

Try to increase your quality re google. The better it thinks your page and natural ranking is the lower your bids will be.

If you go with bing you'll be able to import adwords settings directly. but from experience bing is more 'vanilla'

That's how to do it, but as mentioned above you start running into very very low volumes for these terms, especially if you're starting from a niche position at the beginning.

I am using the search term 'ember reigns' and 'emberreigns' for www.emberathome.com and the quality of the key words is 7 and 8 respectfully out of 10 and the bids are around $1.25 CPC...... When I try including MORE keywords into that, like google suggests, i can get the score to a 9 out of 10 but since the search volume for that is so low (i.e. 'ember reigns cream pie') that it won't even let me use it.

you can use this tool

https://adwords.google.com/ko/Keywor...__c=6209347707

to find search volume before actually setting up ads. I'd also setup campaigns for each KW for better tracking, instead of grouping everything into one

Thanks so much!! I have attempted to use this before but when you get to the category of what your site is, there is NOTHING that would explain a model site. It is CRAZY. I will try the idea of using different campaigns for each key word.
