Is the part about Zimmerman shooting an unarmed 17 year old he pursued correct? From Zimmermans 911 call at least that much seems undisputed.

He's charged with 2nd degree murder and in Florida that means:

Florida's jury instructions (which are based on the Florida statute) spell out three elements that prosecutors must prove to establish second degree murder beyond a reasonable doubt:

The victim is deceased,
The victim's death was caused by the defendant's criminal act, and
There was an unlawful killing of the victim "by an act imminently dangerous to another and demonstrating a depraved mind without regard for human life."

The last element -- an "imminently dangerous" act that shows a "depraved mind" -- is further defined by Florida's jury instructions. Three elements must be present:

A "person of ordinary judgment" would know the act, or series of acts, "is reasonably certain to kill or do serious bodily injury to another";
The act is "done from ill will, hatred, spite, or an evil intent"; and
The act is "of such a nature that the act itself indicates an indifference to human life."

The real issue in the Zimmerman case will be that Zimmerman pursued the guy he shot. The prosecution will take it completely out of the realm of "stand your ground"

Sorry, did not watch Hannity. All I know is that the media keeps saying Zimmerman was told not to follow Martin, when in fact, that never happened. They said, "you do not need to do that."

Additionally, the edited footage that makes it seem that Zimmerman was following him because Martin was black, when in fact, he was only answering a question asked of him, regarding the race.

There are too many unknowns, too many different versions of who saw who on top, the media showing Martin as an angelic grade schooler instead of a current photo (even it the one above is not real, they are purposely trying to portray one as a Skittles eating kid, rather than a kid that was suspended from school a couple days before).

I am reserving judgment, and as I doubt I will watch the trial (if it gets that far) I will have to rely on the verdict of the jury.

Yes, and isn't there an eye-witness corroborating Zimmerman's account? Someone actually saw this "kid" ontop of Zimmerman and pounding away at him? I thought there was, maybe I heard or read that wrong----there's been so much media BS flung around.

Gotta love how they use the pics of the kid when he was like 8 yrs old. For the first 2 weeks of this I was thinking "Aw, that's really terrible, some young boy got killed", but then I come to find out this was a 17-yr old, like 6ft tall and 175 lbs with a troubled adolescent past. Doesn't mean he deserved to die, but the spin the media put on things does make one wonder what's really going on.

Unlike a lot of the country, I intend to wait for the true facts of the case in court before making any personal judgement.

That being said, I'm fully prepared should a certain strain of my local population decide to follow the ill-advised war cry's of a certain domestic terrorist group to "suit up and boot up" against pinky.
