:tongue GFY is the #1 board according to SetGO

GFY - The Top Webmaster Chatboard
by D.U.C. (send email to D.U.C.)

XXX Porner writes: I'm not sure when exactly GFY became the most popular water cooler on the Adult Net. I knew it existed and was a hangout for the younger webmaster crowd but never bothered checking it out until last September. I think it's like anything else, once something achieves a 'critical mass', it takes on a life of its own, it mushrooms in size/popularity. Everybody now has an eye on GFY whether they post there or not. It's not for everybody, i can see how older webmasters might find it way too sophomoric.

You can read the rest there.

Sure it is.

How many people who registered in the last month have over 200 posts to their names? Little fruits on posting sprees thinking high post count gives them some sort of legitimacy. This board has been flooded by them recently.

Post count should be removed. It only encourages newbs to post more. And thats the last thing we want isnt it?

Post count is bad. Giving newbs rewards for posting alot is even worse. Dont encourage Joe 16 year old gallery maker with dreams of a leet tshirt and an XBox.

More than that, it affects post quality and to some extent encourages quality discussion. It's far easier and faster to post a dozen one-liners than it is to post one or two well thought-out paragraphs.

Is that an article about GFY or an excuse to have a rant about how great TGP's are?

I like newbies. Taste like chicken, they do.

Well let's be honest, if we came here for the Serious discussions, we'd all be gone by now. In a sense, that article is pretty accurate, especially about how fights seem to be the main attraction here. GFY is like Maxim Magazine. You do get some good articles once in a while, but it always seems to be attacked by some idiot with the most disgusting picture.

The pool here is huge, everybody is a little fish in a big pond. Everybody wants to be noticed by the big fish. And I guess to some, it's easier to be remembered by posting crap than by working hard and getting noticed the old fashion way.
