I agree that games back then were so much fun...... in some ways more than the latest ones. I used to love:

Spy Vs Spy
Boulderdash
Cliff Hanger
Evil Dead
Forbidden Forest
Alien
Blagger
Bruce Lee
Booty
Druid
F-15 Strike Eagle
Hawkeye
Hunchback
Jupiter Lander
Hungry Horace
Elite (I didnt know what the fuck was going on, but i loved it anyway)

Thats all i remember but read the list and it really takes you back. I must of been like 12 yrs old. You used to be able to walk into a newsagent (in the UK) back then and pick up a C64 game on tape for £2.99 then you ran home to find out it was crap or didnt even load. There were some really good ones though....

I had the vic 20 (C64 lil brother) and enjoyed the cartridge games you slotted in the back...

Menagerie (Frogger) and the Scott Adams text adventure game series were my favourites...

I got through Ghosts & Goblins on the C=64 and the arcade after lots of practice.
Both excellent versions with hordes of demons on the final screen takes 100 goes, getting through 30 levels each game just to get there...

Mission Impossible was the best, no 16, 32 or 64 bit computer could duplicate the gameplay.

Bruce Lee was lots of fun 2 player - bring back the 8 directional joystick!

Spreadshirt is supposed to be the best, I use it for a few things. Haven't held a shirt in my hand, but I hear nothing but good things.
