First of all, it's NOT an assault riffle. And not a riffle at all - just believe me ;) It's a submachine gun which uses the pistol rounds and the recoil energy to recharge (the construction elements say it all). So does your partner own it? What for? Do you like the OP live in a war zone like Somalia or Yemen where every camel has a gun or two? I thought that Spain is a rather safe country. first, it´s an assault rifle, it´s been used by the SAS for years & no, he doesn´t own one. I said he trained with one when training to go to Russia & Africa when in security & close protection. He did the evasive driving, furthered his martial arts & did several courses with weapons training & bomb disposal, tactical inhouse client removal, trained by the Chief police inspector of Hampshire & a very close friend in the SAS 22 reg. There was 6 & the boss of them training, they did languages, he began learning Russian then the operation was cancelled last minute due to their contact killed in a building explosion back in 98.
We´re both glad it didn´t go any further as we met a month later & from there he came out of the security & body guard work, as we pretty much fell in love.

first, he trained with several weapons, hand guns & the mp5, it´s an assault rifle with a detachable magazine. Anyway, either way, not going to argue with you over a name used for the type of gun.
Second, I said in 98, was Putin even in government then? He was training to protect VIP´s in Russia & Africa. The training was for tactical manoeuvre, if the OP was taken or an attack was in occurrence. Again, none of this matters as he never went to Russia or Africa, but, has & was very good for him to have had such training. Knowledge of self defence is always good.
Now he does own a sword, a very nice one. It´s 50 odd times layered & cost over a grand. Will be good if the zombies come to get us

Dude have you seen STG-44 and classic AK47? Have you tried to dissemble them and learn their construction? What exactly do they have in common in your clueless opinion? I mean yes, they both use intermediate cartridges... but what else? Their construction is as different as an apple is different to a screwdriver. Only a complete moron who have seen the rifles in the movies only would compare STG-44 and Kalashnikov. STG-44 is much closer to M16 but not to AK47.

Do you see any similarity in their construction/design? Course both are assault riffles and that's all they have in common. Everything else is a way different. Even an idiot can see it, if he's a bit smarter than you, of course ;)
This is M16 BTW (note its contraction elements and compare them with STG-44):
The AK riffles have an absolutely unique design that made them #1 in the world. They will fire in frozen Arctic, in dusty desert and in wet jungle every time you pull the trigger, They can be assemblied and disassembled even by a girl within seconds (watch the videos above). They will shoot under water, they will shoot filled with a sand, they will shoot if you run over them with a car. The STG-44 and M16 riffles are not even close to that, because their construction is much more complex and seriously different to AK.
P.S. iPhone and a stone brick look similar, but they are very different inside - just believe me

One more thing about clones... There is an old Soviet blockbuster called Pirates of the 20th Century. When it was filmed, the studio had no M16 rifles in their inventory to equip the "bad guys" with, as they wanted (everybody knows that all bad guys prefer the US-made weapon ;)). So they decided... to make up German STG-44 as M16:

Course when you look at the static photo above, you easily see the forgery, but in the movie even I was unable to recognize STG-44 ;) That's because M16 is really closer to STG-44 (I don't want to say it's a clone, I just said it's closer) than AK47, which has a very different construction and no make up will make it looking as M16 even in a half-second scene
