Well like I said Philadelphia is just 40 minutes away and so is atlantic city. I just don't have any friends who are in the adult industry, I am married with kids so it's not like I am out and about partying and meeting girls and can easily network.Then figure out a different thing to do! Trust me trying to get girls to model for you in a small town will not work.
I know I lived in one.. Either try to find models in a bigger city in your state or forget about it.
There was some good advice in this thread and one other thing I would be honest with the model ESP if you are doing a solo girl site. Before I shoot a girl for a solo site I tell them straight up that your parents, family, and friends will find out about your pornsite even if you block your home state. And if they don't find out about it then your website is not a very good one and will never make any money. I tell them if they would want the site offline if their family got mad that we should part ways right now. Most girls are shocked that I'm that upfront with them and it gets me on their good side from the start.
Girls respond to nude model, but once the words "adult website" are mentioned, they disappear.

I went back and did a search on GFY on a previous post and found GREAT info that I had forgotten, and I have been struggling with the decision to do this for quite a while. I guess I have given half assed attempts. I feel limited with no studio, so I suppose once I work that end then I can push hard to get a hot girl.

I have a pretty decent camera. Nikon D90 - a few good lenses. Nothing extremely fancy, but it's good for what I have done thus far and I think just fine for my purposes here. All of my shooting is on location, natural light, *gasp* family photography.
I don't mind looking at naked women, like most of you I have thousands upon thousands on my computer. I can appreciate the beauty, but I'm a straight woman. It only goes so far.
In the meantime, one of the guys has taken some time outside of GFY, showed me a good ad on craigslist, shared a 2257 form, and I already have have had 3 girls emailing me...and one ready to shoot this weekend!
Now I'm just stumped on where to shoot, but I sent her my number and will figure it out. She isn't super hot, but she has nice natural tits and a curvy body. Downside, she has a pretty big bush down there, and well, no girl. NO NO NO. I can't do that.
My plan is to do a quick 30 minute test shoot outside, maybe in bikini and show her tits, just to get my feet wet. If editing goes well, and we both mesh, then maybe she can come to my house for a more in depth full nude shoot.
I have a lot of land. A few victorian chairs and some sheer fabric in the field might do the trick. If it works out and I shoot her, great, if not, I'll hit it again and keep trying

My wife has always been my assistant during model shoots. We've found it helps set the model more at ease...and it's good having an assistant who can handle the menial tasks which leaves me more time to get better shots.
Can't speak for other male photographers, but I'm always so pre-occupied and focused (no pun) on the technical aspects of getting the best shots possible - so the arousal effect is somewhat lost on me during a shoot. Not to say I'm unaware of the eroticism of the scene obviously - I just stay on task.
As for studio space - I suggest you look for an old decrepit industrial building (if you have any in your area)...track down the owner and see if they will sub-let space in the building for a cheap price. We found a 100-yr-old warehouse across town that looked dilapitated and abandoned, but was actually being sub-letted to several local businesses. I tracked down the owner - met with him and haggled an agreement to rent 20,000 sq. ft. of the second floor for $400/mnth. He couldn't find any other suitable tenants for the space, so it was perfect for both of us.
Not to say you'll trip over something like that easily...it takes some looking around. But determination goes a long way.Comment

Thank you very much for your input. I was checking out airbnb.com and that's likely going to be my route for space. There is a badass industrial building not far from me which I have snuck into plenty of times and taken some really great shots. BUT I'm still sneaking and trespassing. There are some studio spaces I saw on craigslist as well for not too expensive. There was even one photog studio who was looking to share and let you use their lighting and backdrops etc.
I really just need to get a couple girls down to see if I even like it. I may hate it. I was gung ho about photographing newborns and bought all my props etc, and then HATED it.
Just need one or two.
