Problem with cutting videos

When I cut mpeg videos with TMPGencC (or Easy VideoSplitter, Avi-mpeg splitter etc) everything seems to go well. However, on my website they appear to be much smaller in size than on my desktop: a 20 seconds movie only seems 10 or 11 seconds long.

How can I avoid this?

I know I achieve this with Source Range in TMPGenc. However, when I use that feature the file size of the video gets much bigger. I can compress it of course (using variable bit rate etc) but that has quite a negative effect on the video quality.

To watch videos I use Windows Media Player. In Real Player everythings goes ok. But the problem is that most people use WMP

it sounds like your splitting WMV files. for some reason it happens to me and i've used many splitters.. try using ULEAD VIDEOSTUDIO, it will be tedious but it will be accurate

If you're really into it, go Pro, Adobe Premier Pro. All that shit goes away when you use good software. Well other problems do come up. I'm editing right now and running into some irritating nits, but nothing like you describe. That's sounds really strange.
