I'm in Van. I'm in the middle of booking my band, and possibly my mashup DJ act. Hit me up nearer the date on ICQ if you or I ever remember this conversation ;)

That makes a few people from GFY who are going to be on the ranch in 11. I might ave to drop by next year. The last few years I been going to the littler known Scumbhala. It's held in a ditch on the side of the highway outside Salmo. You'll pass it heading to the ranch from the Esso in Salmo. It's a bunch of skids drinking whiskey, fighting, and listening to shitty punk rock on a plywood stage in the bush. Lots of skanks and weed. Super fun. Brought out a good crowd, but got shutdown last year I think? There's always a lot of really good local "anti-shambhala" parties held at the time, so I haven't felt the urge to go for a while. I wanted to this summer, but I opted out of the chemical induced frenzy. Trust me, there's no way I'm going in there and not getting completely fucking screwfaced. I tried it once, the fucking etards will drive you crazy. I made it about an hour and a half before I was scarfing down pills just to get on level. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't a drug party, because this one is. Hippy flips at night, whippits and bong rips all day, and whatever else comes around. There'll be tons of acid floating around. I remember partying with these chicks who introduced me to "trail mix", which apparently is ketamine, cocaine, and ecstasy all crushed into one line. ka-pow! You name it, someone is standing on a logging with a megaphone selling it. My favorite Shambhala dealer ever had a big pole strapped to his back with a flashing red light on top. you could ALWAYS find him in a crowd of 10,000 :1orglaugh I really can't believe they've got away with it for so many years. I'm kind of mixed on how I feel about going back there. I don't know if I can hack it anymore, hah. The eays blowjobs and trippy hallucinations are pretty sweet, but the week of post-party fallout are like hell. You can really party out that weekend forever too. SHow up a day early, everyone is partying already, wait out the entire weekend, then go to the decompression party in Nelson, then there's any number of house parties following that. SOme people take it to excess.
