Critique my site?
 

Man I am SOO frustrated with this site that I have and I don't know what the problem is with it. It's a Word Press blog that offers free videos sort of like a tube site. I've got about 20K unq. going to it a day but nowhere near the sales it should be making.

I've swapped ads, swapped types of ads, swapped sponsors and have spent way too much time trying to tweak it.

Would you take a look at it and give me some advice?

maybe its cause everyone knows videosz and vidz so nobody will click that banners? try to promote new sites, not old known ones ... :2 cents:

I also think those page-over ads are an instant red flag for a potential customer. Right away you are telling them you are trying to sell them anything you can sell them instead of letting them know "Hey, these are the best sites out there that you need to join" There is a fine line between a sale and scaring someone off

As TeenCat said... try some new and unique sponsors...and look at your stats to see what is converting best for you and work within that niche.

i would try new lordsofporn.com, then seemysextapes.com and for example new private.com ... nice banners with new sites may bring life to your site :winkwink: :2 cents:

that page-over ad fucking sucks. ztod is stale. and you are too aggressive with banners.

kill the above the video banner. replace the below the video banner with a text description and call to action.

for the sidebars start experimenting with different sponsors. take a look at the traffic junky ads on pornhub/keez etc. to get some idea what sponsors people are willing to spend money on.

remove the page-over ads.
add a menu between the header and the movies.
where is the text on the sidebar?
on the video page change the top banner to something static(no pic preferred).

The captions under the videos in the first link are hard to read. You have a black background with grey text. I and millions of other people will have trouble reading it. yeah I know people don't go to porn video sites to read. But it is there and people will glance at it for a second. Just make all text everywhere white and my eyes will thank you.

There is a popup or a console on the site when I load it. This advertisement is as big as the whole page. I have to close the advertisement or scroll down to see your whole site with porno videos. Some surfers might close your site after a few seconds of opening it, because they don't like the advertisement that takes up the whole page. Every porno movie has a small preview of a small photo and a few lines of text. To get more traffic for your site, you need to trade traffic with a lot of sites that are similar to yours. Look at the most successful video sites out there and you will see examples of successful designs. There is a search function on your site - this is good.

Yup, that page over ad needs to go. The ads need to be cleaned up as well, less is more unless you're selling advertising space...:1orglaugh

Even then, it's not a very targeted site. I wouldn't expect crazy ratios. What's your traffic source?

I added a very similiar popup to one of my sites, my traffic cut itself in half, time on the site hit the shitter, as well as pages viewed, etc... I made it so that it only pops up if the person views a 2nd page, then they have the "no thanks" link they can click and it stores a cookie so it won't show again for another week. Everything went back to normal after that. You especially don't want that thing popping up every single time on every page.

Since everything has 0 comments that might make the site look "deserted" to some people IDK..

Also some people won't click the ads around your videos simply because they just think it's an ad to some site and has nothing to do directly with the video being shown. Maybe try just putting some text like "This video is brought to you by [link]Sponsor Name[/link]" so they know where to get more videos like it.

#1 why the hell do you need a popup for mobile
just have the site detect if they are on mobile and give them the mobile page automatically instead of this lame popup

#2 dont expect to make much with a generic porn tube site with 20k hits
hell even 1-2 sales a day is good considering the low number of hits that will actually click an ad

Good idea. I'm an absolute moron for doing it my way.
