really don't know and never heard about that. However, NATS is just a script, not a processor, so if this happens maybe the cascade is wrong and people is blaming the script instead of processors scrubbing. Then again, never heard about that and found it quite strange.

I don't understand it at all... if anything, one should see many many more sales if NATs is used properly. Many more. They let you set up an intelligent cascade and use as many billers as you could want.

I think it takes a lot of time to get correct and the site suffers in the mean time as it happens way too often to be random.

if you don't have the postback set up correctly you may have sales that you cant see.

TheDA 02-07-2010 07:50 AM

NATS tracks better?

Klen 02-07-2010 07:52 AM

Yes it could be it how it simply different tracking, but still it's strange.

if you have free affiliate account, 15% of your sales belongs to nats

MrGroper 02-07-2010 07:56 AM

In the past we had noticed drops in sales with CCBill programs who had implemented NATS. The best we could figure is that the signup process was to blame.

Once NATS was used a customer would be required to give their email address before they were even allowed to view the signup form. With CCBill they always went straight to the signup form. We felt it was a matter of habit. They just weren't used to it and it showed in the form hits comparison. Over time customers got used to the process and sales slowly returned.

The only issue we've experienced lately would be when a program owner who implements NATS makes a mistake of some kind. Once NATS is dialed in the sales almost always increase.

Noticed this same phenomenon with multiple affiliates over the years who made the switch! Before nats sales were steady and consistent, after nats sales dried up into virtually nothing.

This has happened to me with at least 4 different programs over the years. Then a very very reputable webmaster on gfy informed me that with nats you can tweak the software to make it skim sales.

I don't know if its true, I don't use nats, but that was the word on the street. With my experience the theory must hold some water because my affiliate checks have all dried up when programs converted to nats.

Good point I never thought about. As a buyer of porn occasionally, (from that perspective) I am always a bit turned off when I have to first enter my email before I get to the main signup page.

I tend to naturally respect the site I am signing up for if they don't "bs me along" and give me a full form right away with all the details.

Seems a one shot form is best. Could explain the falling numbers when the surfer has a two click vs a one click process.

It's pretty much how I had it figured
If used properly it'll increase conversions a great deal
If not used properly, it won't
If set up badly, it'll hurt conversions, of course.
