yeah Simon, that's what I meant, one large is 1,000 bucks, 100 large = 100,000 bucks

havne't hung around gamblers in a long time, i think a 'nickel' is 500 bucks in sports betting terms, and a 'dime' is a grand.

If ya really wanna do some reasearch on it, there's a book called, The Slang Of Sin & it's all the lingo & slang used in the joint & by dealers, pimps, gamblers, drug addicts, etc, etc. It's a pretty interesting book actually. I'm into writing so it was worth the purchase for me.
