I have seen huge rocks the size of cars tumble down a hill side that stood quiet seconds before... sometimes, I would have to say the rocks had a mind of their own.

The rock, non-alive things, are part of the mother earths vibration of life, it does not have a unique conscience of its own. Even a tree, which is alive, is not aware that it is alive, due to the lack of soul.

You gain awareness once the soul of life enters, otherwise whatever "it" is, is simply part of some other life source.
