dilemma - be an extra in a tv show or attend semi family reunion??

i've been hired to ride my harley as an extra for the tele show "sons of anarchy"

just so happens it's the same day as a family get-together most of my family is attending, although there are several key family members not attending.

i already RSVP'ed to attend but it would be pretty sweet to be on tv.

which would you do?

GrouchyAdmin 08-28-2008 09:00 AM

You could be a bit part on a TV show that's likely to be cut - but man, that 0.24 seconds will mean so much more than being with people you give a shit about.

P.S. If you don't talk, scale is like $60. Woop-de-doodlefuck.

riding my scoot with some friends and others around la la and having it recorded and broadcast sounds like fun

hanging out with <1/2 my family with everyone getting drunk, assuming their old roles & eating potato salad = not so much fun

Go to tv instead, you will probaly not be on tv again meanwhile family reuniuons are every year.

klaze 08-28-2008 10:13 AM

If you don't go to the reunion Karma will kill half your family.

Dude, I did extra work for years.

If you need the money yeah do it but you will most likely never even be
seen in the shot.

Out of all my extra work I can probably be seen and recognised in maybe 3 movies.
This is out of 100's of sceens.

Go see the family unless you are flat broke.

baddog 08-28-2008 11:09 AM

Have been an extra a couple times. Unless I was really in need of cash I would never do it again.

sltr 08-28-2008 11:21 AM

i figured i'd ask me mum, she said "are you crazy? go do it, you see the fam all the time!"

lol, guess i should of asked her 1st.

besides, i'd like to meet some new folks here in la la, outside the biz.

thanks for the inputs!

On that side; hell yeah. Extra work is the bomb for meeting new people and usually
hot babes are a plenty.

Can't beat the experice of seeing the film process in action either.

Just seemed like you were really torn about the family event so that's where my
other side came from.
