How much traffic to skim?
I am thinking about having UCJ installed on my TGP and I was wondering, what is a good amount of traffic to skim to trades.
I want good traffic growth through trades. But I also want to have a good site and get bookmarks. Any advice is welcome. |
i had mine set at about 25-30%
|
Or you can just use cjultra & set the galleries at 70%
its free ya know :Graucho |
Is cjultra just as good?
Give me a url to it please and Ill check it out. |
|
CJUltra seems to be pretty good for small sites, although I've heard hosts bitching up a storm about it on occasion.
If you want a good script, get UCJ, there's no competition. Cheers, Backov |

i set my skim rate at 25% |
btw, asking people what they set their skim rate at is pointless.
If you want a quality site that attracts bookmarkers, set it lower. If you don't care about that and want to get the surfers in and out of your site and don't care if they like your site, then set it higher. Mine is at zero. I have a couple of blind links, but that's it. |

Anyone using my system to generate tgp sites will agree its worken real nice. In fact, its so damn advanced, it will probably make oldtimers here drop their jaw in wonder :thumbsup |
Thx Darin :)
(btw Darin - Im still processing the "issue" in my head :winkwink: - results are expected soon) Anyway.. Skimming is a very reliable source of traffic for trading in TGPs. Some say its good becaue it gets you traffic to trade and some say its bad because it scares away bookmarkers. So its all a question of balance - and that as we know is subjected to personal belief. Skimming too much will tilt your site into becoming a CJ-like site. Skimming very little will give you too little traffic to trade. Since If you dont have alot of SE and bookmarkers traffic you should skim more that the luckey ones. The "acceptable" skimming range out there ranges from 5% to 40% where 5% is very little and 40% is a lot!. My suggestion.. start with a higher value and lower it over time once your TGP becomes more popular. An ok values for the first few weeks will be about 30-35% where after you start picking it up lower in 5% a month until you feel its low enough. This is not science, and I'm not a scientist. Its just my view of things - and who knows... maybe I am wrong :winkwink: |

UCJ is very nice, but to say there is no competition, *ah hem* that would be a bit mistaken. UCJ gets pumped quite a bit, but there are other scripts that are around like TM3, and RB4. There are hosted scripts like XXXmanager. Then, there are also complete programs. http://www.c-scripts.com Scorpion 3 has too many features to list. The primary difference is a Windows client for control and statistical analysis of the server script. |
Whatever you do, don't skim more than 30%, or your TGP will be a no bookmark zone CJ site.
As far as which scripts are best, its like asking someone who beer is best, everyone will have their favorites. But if you take a look at Sextrackers top 100 you'll find more UCJ sites than any other traffic script. :D |
Demonwolfe--
Yes that is true, but UCJ was given away back in the day to the top people, just as Tm3 is being given away now to people. Anyway, compare the features of the programs, not the hype. |
in my site i got a section for trades and a section for galleries...
on my galleries i have it set at 69% going to gals and the other 31% going to trades to try and increase my prod!! but with your site i dunno what to recommend to you mate sorry!! |

Not looking at the facts is like the old saying goes... "Eat shit!, billion flies cant be wrong!" :thumbsup (Note - this is Definitely not saying UCJ is bad - Im just saying I agree one should look at the details and decide what is best for him) Also - Demonwolfe: why should'nt he check the top 10 or top 20 on sextracker?? I think you will find the results a "little" different :winkwink: Also - why not devide the number of sites using each script/system by the age (in years or months) of the script/system?? In any way - what does he care about the top-tgps when they are hardly his point of comparison. Should he not skim because the top ones hardly do? should he start approaching ad agencies to sell his ad-space?? :winkwink: EDIT: Goddamn! its my 300 post - just noticed it :thumbsup |
