Paying out affiliates before they reach minimum? YES or NO ???

Do you guys do it or not?

DBS.US 03-05-2008 08:17 PM

Paying out affiliates before they reach minimum is like saying only real webmasters get paid.:winkwink:

Vick! 03-05-2008 08:47 PM

sometime a single $35 payment can get you all the future business of someone.

Deputy Chief Command 03-05-2008 08:57 PM

my sig sponsor pays out any amount

GoNe 03-05-2008 08:58 PM

If I get an affiliate that requests it I do it. No problem at all. I get the request then and then.

Twig 03-05-2008 09:00 PM

When I first started a sponsor paid me below the min. It was a big deal to me and I continued to promote them, a lot more than I was going to. Now I make plenty with them.

ajrocks 03-06-2008 06:51 AM

I'l do it from time to time if the affiliate really needs it.

pornguy 03-06-2008 07:06 AM

I have always thought that it might be a good idea to do if the payment has been sitting for at least 30 days.

fuzebox 03-06-2008 07:19 AM

But high minimum payouts is a solid source of income for programs :1orglaugh

kmanrox 03-06-2008 10:31 AM

if you're an affiliate program and an affiliate requests to get paid and he's below the minimum, while technically you'd be allowed to deny it, but as far as I'm concerned, that's downright shady.

did you ever think that your program sucks and thats why he couldn't make the min. sales? why should he get penalized... you may think he's some dumb shit newb with no traffic, what if he's not.. what if its your ass-backwards program?

u-Bob 03-06-2008 10:53 AM

If a program has a minimum payout of $100 or more and/or refuses to send out payments below minimum payout, it always makes me wonder why that program is so desperate to hang on to MY money...

digifan 03-06-2008 11:03 AM

Yes, do it and get more affiliates. I wish I had all the money sitting here and there for months in my epass acount.

TommyM 03-06-2008 11:06 AM

i dont see why sponsors should not do it, if they request it, if they are not, in my eyes its like stealing the affiliates money

lbc213 03-06-2008 11:13 AM

When I first started out in this biz making maybe 1 sale a period if I was lucky Nasty Dollars would pay out $35 which I though was nice of them, gave me that extra incentive to promote them more and I sent a lot of sales to them as my traffic has continued to grow.

tranza 03-06-2008 11:27 AM

If any sponsor refused to do it after I'd requested, I'd never promote it again.

:2 cents:

Skillz Unlimited 03-06-2008 11:36 AM

Great thread

Marco Porno 03-06-2008 11:43 AM

I think that one of the main reasons for a minimum payout is to prevent fraudsters. Carders would have a field day requesting to be paid out every period in advance! my 2 cents

The Ghost 03-06-2008 11:44 AM

I've done it before and have no problem with it, or paying out before the end of a pay period. We all have times where the extra money can come in handy and as someone mentioned before, the good will can earn future business.

As long as it's real revenue from sales that are not fraud, it's no problem.

Absolute Minimum payments should be no more than 50$ for domestic webmasters. The ones who set it to $100 or more and pay monthly shouldn't be surprised when webmasters begin preferring merged ccbill programs instead.

If a program did offer to make an exception, I would view that very favorably though. I've had a rep offer that to me once without asking and that particular program is in my sig right now without a ref code. :)

MikeVega 03-06-2008 01:25 PM

if they ask then yes ...

D 03-06-2008 01:28 PM

On request, I don't see why not.

It's their money.

Dollarmansteve 03-06-2008 01:57 PM

when requested, for sure. There are several reasons for minimum payouts, not the least of which being the cost associated with processing payments and printing checks.

Also, there seems to be a perception that a signup represents a cashflow - which it does, over time... but, having earned say $35 or $70 in commissions doesn't represent $35 of $70 of cash sitting in some bank account or safe :P

Yep same.

I had a low balance at lightspeed ... something like $24. They paid me out on it without question. I just knew I had no more traffic for them. They were awesome about it, I was shocked.

cwd 03-06-2008 02:16 PM

If the affiliate request it. I will pay him for sure.
No reason to no pay.
