Why the fuck does Blizzard bring down all of WoW on Tues for maintennace?

Is it necessary to being down all realms?

because in order for them to update everything they bring it all down so they can do the update all at once juicy

Two possibilities:

1) To ensure that every WoW player is playing the same version of the game as everyone else, all servers must be taken offline until updates propogate through all realms.

2) To increase page views on their forums every Tuesday.
