If so, we need to talk.

There's some kinda script running on my machine that gives me a pop-up FPA for his various paysites about every 5th page I open in IE. Norton, zone alarm, adaware, etc just can't find it, and it's not a running application. I've also killed my java and still can't get rid of it. It's been crashing me for a week, and is really getting on my nerves. No biggie, but I'd sure like it gone.

did you reboot your system?

Dozens of times.

Brown Bear 10-04-2002 05:57 PM

I've found that the solution to all my problems is a good masturbation session.

Squishy 10-04-2002 05:57 PM

And no matter how many times I see the "Studvision" FPA, I'm just not gonna sign up.

You know, I've got my case open...I could spank it on to my AMD's heatsink and see if that does the trick...I'll report back with the results.

open windows task manager and watch it as you go through the routine that pops up the ad. You should see the script in processes or applications as it is preparing to fire up. Then trace it and delete it.

That was a good idea, but no go...It's just popping up a new IEXPLORE.EXE...nothing else is changing in processes or applications.

squishy, icq me.

Mr.Fiction 10-04-2002 08:23 PM

Is Nitechat buying ads with Gator or one of the other scumware companies?

pr0 10-04-2002 08:27 PM

I'd like to hear how this turns out

Squishy 10-05-2002 01:33 AM

Nitechat, sorry for the delay in the ICQ...it's been sent now. I had a gig, and just got done spinning. It's a helluva neat thing, whatever it is. Pro, I'm sure he will be very helpful, and will spare me from formatting C: (hint hint) :D

Nah...this is probably one hell of a sales tool, and proprietary. I wish him the best with it, but dumbshit gallery boy here is not gonna sign up.

If it pops up on my machine without my permission it is illegal.
I'd like to know.

Trust me, man...I'm all about signups, and this thing rocks for what it is. I may have given it permission, as I get loaded when I'm a surfin', and I doubt it's illegal. No stress is required, and kudos to whoever wrote it. If nitechat had an affiliate program, and I could use this, I certainly would.

HOW IT WORKED OUT:

Nitechat was very helpful and directed me to cytron.com, the people resposible for it. I emailed them, and they finally responded 4 days later with removal instructions that did not work...further email help requests went unanswered. However, my Mcafee Vshield just told me, after taking the new uptade, that my machine had the "cytron" virus, and it is now fixed. So, boy and girls, the morals are as follows.

1. Nitechat is a good lil feller.

2. [email protected] is a scumbag. Feel free to drop him hate mail, never let him design or program for you, and avoid any marketing offers he may throw your way.
