Today I started loading on..
STON

The last 40 years the economy was driven by baby boomers,
and STON is where everybody are going,
recession, depression, economic boom -
EVERYBODY eventually will get there
;)

Fap 01-23-2008 11:26 AM

StoneMor is a full-service cemetery and funeral home corporation that began with a vision: "to memorialize each life with dignity."

FACT: There are more people alive now than have ever been dead.

1) Consistent 51 cents a quarter dividend since the day one

2) purchased 47 cemeteries and funeral homes on Dec 21st
and suggests even higher dividend in the near future

3) here is something with 100% certainty:
in the next 50 years at least 1/2 of this board will be dead with STON as one of the major beneficiaries.

I have more orders to buy but they are under the current market.

cherrylula 01-23-2008 11:52 AM

Nice, lots of profit in the death market.

You should check the average cost of funeral over the last 20 years. more and more creamtion which really drops the costs on those things.

But bought some equally weird shit in EQR and of course some CFC. ;)

CFC??? I _only_ bought TMA at $15 but..got my first dividend of $.25,
they seem to do fine after all.

What price did you get into EQR?

Very true, cremations are cheaper but....we'll make it in vloume and we don't have to worry about what the next technology will do to burials, I don't see them becoming obsolete any time soon
;)

True, and if this gig doesn't work for me,
I'll become a weapons merchant, just like a Russian guy in the movie

I got CFC yesterday only because banks were oversold and BAC was trading almost 30% over CFC. EQR I bought yesterday too, These were all going to be holds heheh but the vix is not cooperating so they might all become trades.

I have mixed feelings on google, its p/e is huge but then again they have no debt and are out to control everything. I just started using google checkout for my mainstream sites so now they control my income too :1orglaugh

Nice merger arbitrage. If you read the conference call from the 11th (or so) on the "merger" Kenneth Lewis sure seems quite confident in the deal. It is available on seekingalpha.com.

BAC has already got skin in the game on that deal so if he walks he gets right off a huge loan too. BUT you are tied to BAC and not a lot of fun in the financials right now. Today was huge so maybe we will see. Crushing numbers on it. :)

I actually like BAC right now. good 3 to 4 year play IMO.

Colin, Warren Buffet liked it too
;)

I am staying away from those,
I like "sure things" and when I find this animal, I'll let everybody know

hope you sold them early, todays pre-market they are for 1.47.

its better not to buy financials, cause nobody knows what they are hidding like TMA CEO hidding for a month that they got a margin call and the bussines is really not that great. Nobody knows whats going on behind curtain, even all these analysts seems not get it when they miss more then 80% forecasts in financial sector. there are several things going to blow in next few months and its really hard to tell the impact of blowouts.

you know, TMA paper holdings was creme de la creme in the mortage area and they could go to BK easily now.

slapass 03-06-2008 06:48 AM

yeah they look tits up but can't say i am happy with cfc either.
