My fake Rolex broke twice already -- just bought in last night in NYC

We bought these Rolex watches in Times Square... Part of the sale is you beat the thing in your hand and you can feel the mechanism buzz... so for fun last night I'm feeling this thing buzz in my hand -- then the fucking band pin falls out -- so I fix it with a paperclip... Good as new I think...

Then I'm driving to Florida and I look at the time on it -- fuck if the thing can tell the date correctly, BUT the time is too fast LOL -- it can't even tell time! Haha... So I'm mesmerised by the thing by now -- just the idea of so much effort put into this piece of junk to make it look almost exactly like a Rolex... so I'm beating it on my hand and feeling the buzz again -- then I look down and the hands just FALL!! Haha.. Now the hour and minute hands are totally broke -- just the smooth seconds sweep -- that's it... Now it's purely a decoration... Maybe I should microwave it...?

I'll post pics later -- I just need some time to recover from driving... Another webmaster bought the same watch -- will he admit on GFY that he bought out too? hehe...

The SS/Plat. YachtMaster is a bitchin' watch, you should get a real one.

About a year ago I bought a Swiss made fake rolex. It has the same movements, opens with a rolex tool, real gold, same weight, the whole works. Paid 700.00 for it. Came an original rolex box and and certicate with matching serial numbers and the little loop tag thing.

Never had a problem with it. I love it. Got a real one as a gift though and went to sell it on ebay and it got booted. Was kinda pissed..

So now I'm stuckwith a good fake and a real one...

No way would some other webmaster admit to being such a sucker.

DOH! :winkwink:

Mine is actually still in one piece (probably because I've barely touched it since buying it), but as I was about to snap this pic, I realized it was 4 and a half hours slow already (I fixed it for the pic). That's some good stuff.

I've bought fake watches before (FOR LESS MONEY) and they lasted for years. I bought a fake Tag in Toronto for $20 CDN.... That sucker worked like a champ for almost 4 years without losing a minute, needing a battery change, or anything.

TheFLY and I paid a lot less for ours than you did, but we still paid too much. Our stories have something else in common though:

Boneprone! Damn him and his peer pressure!

hahaha....

That sounds really nice -- but I'd really have to see it to believe it... Where did you buy that watch? One of the main things about this cheap fake that bothers me is the tolerances aren't as tight and edges aren't as crisp as they should be to make it wearable... I've done lots of 3d design work so those flaws bother me -- but Boneprone says the girls will be easily fooled. Hehe... I may need to pay for some Rolex insertion content soon... I'm hooked!

kmanrox 10-01-2002 07:08 AM

Gucci keeps more accurate time. It's a proven fact, but unfortunately I don't have a link or proof for this statement.

[illnet]-Romeo 10-01-2002 08:17 AM

Rolex's are known for keeping horable time, even after you get them serviced for $150! I have a Submariner and it looses about 5-10 mins every month or so. Just had to change the date today actually.

Maybe they made your fake so slow to keep it like the real thing :1orglaugh

Penrod 10-01-2002 08:23 AM

Romeo,

You are full of shit. You bought that submariner at the Texaco station on Hillsbourough Ave for $45. Don't be a faker.

[illnet]-Romeo 10-01-2002 08:30 AM

haha ya right Penrod. Kinda like the one you use to wear till the pin fell out!!! :1orglaugh

PersianKitty 10-01-2002 08:42 AM

Never had a problem with mine keeping time at all.

Sharky 10-01-2002 08:46 AM

I've got a rolex Submariner and love it!

It did lose time rigth after I got it, but when I took it in I found out why,...

They wind with movement. which would explain why mine was slow. I wouldn't wear it for 2 days and then put it on to notice slow time. My wife does it all the time with hers.... They sell these watch cases that will spin your watch while it's down... I think you can set them to spin for 10-15 minutes an hour or so.

as long as you keep it moving (or wear it daily) you shouldn't have a problem:-))

You obviously have it serviced at the corner gas station, there is no need for that watch to be out + - 1 minute a month! I have owned a few over the years, including the all gold blue dial sub, never any problem!

Oldy 10-01-2002 09:08 AM

I dont have a watch. I just see it on GFY clock. It does not fail.

If you go to http://www.idealwatches.com/ than click under Date-Just mine is the last one at the bottom right hand side. It's the MDJ17 100% Exact Marking.

BradShaw 10-01-2002 10:15 AM

If you are such a player, why wear a fake rolex? Do you also use those penis extensions?

Smegma 10-01-2002 10:21 AM

ouch.

For me.... I can't justify spending that kind of money on a watch. I'd rather spend on a big TV or take a vacation or gamble it away in Vegas.... Hell, I'd rather have the cash.

BTW, I just looked at mine and it was stopped at 11:15 (three hours ago). haha.... What a piece of shit.
