Any Adobe Premier Pro Guru's Care to help with a very basic question...
So I downloaded Premier Pro CS3 tonight since windows movie making was pissing me off and crashing all the time. But I can't even figure out how to cut the clip I am working on to remove parts.
Every time I search google I end up more lost, :O |
...haven't worked with Premiere, but most non linear editing software i have used will make a cut at the position of your slider when you hit "Insert" button (the one above "Delete"). You make a starting cut like that, ending cut like that, then you select that part of the video and hit delete to get rid of it.

Do you already have the AVI captured and on the time line?
|
did some google search - Ctrl+k makes a razor cut, but wasn't able to verify whether it works in all versions, incl CS3
|
Thanks for the help, that key doesnt appear to do anything in premier. Wish it did though.
|
crl k works awesome though, Thanks pornask :)

you mean just to make a cut in the timeline? use the razorblade icon in the tools menu
|
Damn! At least give the tutorial a test drive before posting such questions.
I = inpoint, O = outpoint That tool that looks like a razor blade cuts clips. Seriously, take a few hours and learn the basics or outsource some help... :2 cents Adobe publishes an excellent series of tutorial manuals called Classroom in a Book, and a company called Total Training offers DVDs/Videos that walk you step by step through the process, that pay gold for the amount of time and money invested.
